Sod Busters Crying The Blues Over Tariffs

Not a single tariff dime has been charged to an American farmer at the moment, but you'd think a fox just stole their last chicken. American farmers produced $992B worth of crops and livestock in 2017...about $20B of that is exported to China. Do the math. Trump has promised them subsidies if China doesn't back down and still they're sobbing. What isn't being mentioned is that China still has to EAT, right? They have no alternative to buying our pork and produce and Trump knows it. Every story about their phony plight undermines the President's ability to negotiate a fair trade balance so the drive-bys are eager to print them...anything to topple Trump. And don't think China isn't buying American farms as fast as they can...apparently that imaginary 25% tariff doesn't scare them in the least. :26:

Fear of 'disastrous situation' in farm economy as China targets huge US soybean business

Tissue?

Well I am sure you know more about the agricultural business than the farmers do. I am sure that they will take reasurrance from that as they plan their crops for this year and next.

Oh by the way- we are not the only place China can buy pork or soybeans.

One of my grandfathers was a farmer, clown....I remember after he died, my granny put the farm into the "food bank" and was paid NOT to grow crops....the market has been rigged for years to prop up farm prices. And yeah, China can buy pork and soybeans from south america....pork full of worms and soybeans fertilized with human feces....yum yum.

No, the competition for the Chinese pork market is not between South America and the United States. It is between Europe and the United States. Consumers feel that quality standards are higher among the European pork producers. The only advantage that the United States holds in both the Chinese and Japanese pork markets is price. That evaporates with the assessment of a tariff.

Interestingly enough, the reason pork, and especially beef, exports to China are so limited is the inability of US producers to meet the increased quality and safety standards now required by the Chinese government. Like no growth hormones Standards that are higher than the domestic market here in the United States. Kind of comical, much of the meat US consumers purchase out of the meat case at their local grocery store would not meet minimal standards in China.

What about Trump's?

Nah, I'll let you nimrods keep trying to change the subject.

Cuck.

grow up.

Coming from you that's comical.

Stay on topic maybe, you poseur hack.

cant explain how tariffs effect the little guy more than the big guy can ya doltboy ..... figures.

yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Any tax affects someone with less income as opposed to more income.

unless you don't tax the low income people at all, and that means they have no stake in government.

name one farmer who doesnt buy steel and aluminum products to run his farm.

Since when are farmers considered low income?

Farmers that would be impacted by a steel tariff in such a scale that it would matter?

BIg gubmint intervening on a massive scale, controlling people’s purchases and forcing them to pay more by artificial means? The Constitution’s not pure, buddy. That’s why there are so many amendments. Don’t be surprised a little socialism snuck in there. Be surprised that you endorse it.

The government needs some form of revenue and most libertarians (small l) support taxes on commerce vs. income anyway.
Well commerce taxes adversely affect the middle and lower classes that struggle to afford them. So I can understand why you, as a Trump republican, would support that.

Unless you eliminate all their taxes, any tax affects people who have to pay them.

Commerce taxes impact people the more $$ they spend, and of course there can be certain exceptions.
People who can’t buy much buying less has a more negative impact on them than people who can buy a lot buying less

And people who do not pay at least something into government don't really have s stake in it.

Representation without taxation.
The middle and lower classes do, in fact, pay in

Few. You need 5000 acres to be profitable.
And that's renting land from others as you pay them a % of the yields.
But you can live cheap on 500 acres. And look it.

So learn history. What always happens when the wealthy and powerful abuse their people?

Much of the military falls into the lower class. Do you dismiss them as easily?

'toys'?

Farmers spend that kind of money to maximize production and minimize human labor- they have to spend that kind of money in order to stay competitive.

But they don't pay cash for that $500,000 combine- they buy it on credit based upon expected future profits.

What can we expect right now if the tariffs go through?
a) Farmers buying fewer combines- both because the prices will be going up for combines(steel and aluminum tariffs) and because they can't take the risk.
b) Foreign markets like Australia and Argentina taking over the market in China currently dominated by American farmers.

Nice to buy a 500K combine you can't repair it yourself.
As the software is locked so you can't diagnosis the issues.
Or reset the dang thang if you make repairs.
That JUST WRONG, John Deere SUCKS HERE
As others do the same. FFS! They force you to HACK your goddam Tractors...LOL!

What happens is the middle class uses the lower class to take over the upper, and the lower ends up in a worse position then before.

The only abuse of power we see currently is by lefty twats of your ilk trying to overturn an election result by any means available, legal or not.
