how ironicWhy read things into the Bible that aren't in it?

I don't know what's ironic about what I said. Protestants and Catholics both read into the Bible things that are not in it, such as the Papacy.how ironic
it is protestants who do that...
they claim to believe in the Bible and the Bible only
yet i have heard people c laim this or that is in there when it is not... or they twist the words so much... you know they are misinterpreting it
Catholics have Tradition on their side, which means the history of the Christian Church, the historical teachings... the saints.. etc.I don't know what's ironic about what I said. Protestants and Catholics both read into the Bible things that are not in it, such as the Papacy.
We cannot go back. All we have is the present and the future. We need to go forward by focusing on the teachings of Christ and the Apostles--and apostolic traditions. (This is saying much the same thing, but differently.)Intelligent people like Scott Hahn want the Church that goes back to Christ and the 12
I agree but I wasn't speaking of going back in any kind of way except that we should study the history of the Church. Those who cannot remember (or don't care about) the past... u know the restWe cannot go back. All we have is the present and the future. This post was originally published in July 2018. –ed.no, you don't get Catholics at all, not surprisingly... used to this
sigh
Purgatory iss supported by the Bible... it's just that most protestants don't SEE it.. Scott Hahn saw it... He had to study a long time but he finally began to understand Catholic teaching. I suggest others do as he did.. Otherwise, they cannot have an intelligent conversation about this... bc they do not know what they are talking about.
Purgatory is not punishment but purgation. Yes, it hurts in the lower levels... that is why we need to follow Christ diligently in THIS life...
I question your count.most people know that Jesus died on a cross the save us from our sins
Not boring? ---- is what I ask those who think they crave immortality and follow an evil version of the Christian God to get it.The storyline keeps you thinking in circles and downward spirals.
If only we would all think alike it would be a much easier life - wouldn't it???
All Bull Shit fiction from a guy that runs from discussing the morality of his imaginary scenario. To teach. To show us how to love. To fulfil the Law for the Jews. To graft Gentiles into the blessings of Abraham, and the Jews.
He saved us from our sin by exchanging His pure record for us to enter Heaven under, while taking the punishment for our sins, which was death. Then He conquered death and returned victorious.
Given that the judge is such an evil entity, we should all kick him and his verdicts into hell.I don't think I've ever done anything even close to meriting a death sentence for someone else.
Do you see the genocidal, homophobic and misogynous as good enough for heaven?Christ alone was a “good person”—good enough to earn heaven—
The 10 commandments have been our moral guidelines since they were first given to us, by the God of Israel...All Bull Shit fiction from a guy that runs from discussing the morality of his imaginary scenario.
If you ever wish to test your moral sense.

A lesson in how not to accept responsibility. So God sends His only son to Earth where he gets brutally executed and all the sinners get off scot free.
What kind of lesson is that?

More Bull Shit. The 10 commandments have been our moral guidelines since they were first given to us, by the God of Israel...
///It wasn't permanent. Jesus was resurrected in 3 days.
Then you know no sin?I don't think I've ever done anything even close to meriting a death sentence for someone else.
You are the evil, not God...More Bull Shit.
Even you break the first commandment.
You put another above the evil in Yahweh.
I see you ran from what Jesus taught about being a savior and tried to deflect.
You are looking like an immoral bot.

It ends there because of the immorality of the notion for both the giver and the taker. Why do Christians say that Jesus died for the sins of others, and then cut off the narrative? That's not where it ends.
