A bipartisan committee has already investigated 1/6 and released its report. It cited the Capitol police as being responsible for the event, having no leaders, no one in charge, no plan, not enough manning, not enough training, did not have the equipment they needed, & did not have the support they needed. The report stated President Trump DID recommend having National Guard members on hand but that his suggestion was rejected byboth House and Senate Sergeants at Arms, claiming the OPTICS of having Natl Guard troops there would not be good.
