Sunny Hostin Says WH Aide Committed Battery,Not Acosta

That's what she said. She gave an example. She said is she was holding a cup, and you snatched it from her (touching just the cup), then you've committed a battery against her - because the cup is an "extension" of her. So when the White House aide touched the microphone, Sunny Hostin, on The View, claims that was a battery against Jim Acosta.

She claims her source for this is Justicia, which provides free case law, codes, regulations and legal information for lawyers, and anyone.

So by Sunny Hostin's logic then, it you touch something that someone else is touching, you have then committed a battery against that person ? I can't even begin to explain how absurd all this sounds. Any ideas, opinions, conjecture ?
Balderdash!!!!

She is a thug

Did she ever hear of the words please and thank-you

May I please have the microphone Mr Acosta ?
I’m sorry, I’m not done with it
You can have it as soon as the President answers my question
Acosta tried to rape her.

He wasn't asking a question. His last statement was "but they were hundreds of miles away." That is not a question. It's an argument.

He asked why Trump called it an invasion
Trump gave an incoherent response

The thug intern invaded his personal space

You do not just grab a microphone from a highly respected member of the press

You do not just grab a microphone from a highly respected member of the press

Is he so 'highly respected' he can ignore the president when said president says his time is up?

That is why we have a free press
Meekly walking away when an elective representative tells you to does not get questions answered

Trump is a bully who tries to control the press. The Press should not stand for it

Trump is a bully who tries to control the press.
Acosta is a bully trying to control the president.

One problem.

It was Trumps press conference, not Acostas

The Press should not stand for it

Maybe they should write something nasty about him.

If the White House was in the right here...why did they feel the need to use a DOCTORED video (edited by INFORWARS) to try to make their case?
I know right? This is the republican party that has lost its mind. They have no values, no morals, they’re fine with lies and smears. This party will be an embarrassment to America decades into the future.

This party will be an embarrassment to America decades into the future.

Like yours has been?

Who the fuck is Sunny Hostin and why should anyone care about the ravings of an insignificant loon such as this Hostin?
Well she’s black. So of course Republicans are going to say that. Because they’re racist. Black people can’t be smart according to them. And gasp she has an education. That makes her even worse.

and she's one of 5 comedians on a morning talk show

Trump just said he doesn’t know Matt Whitaker. I’m watching him right now on TV at one of his helicopter press conferences.

He says Matt Whitaker worked for Jeff sessions.

He said when sessions left I just took a man that worked for Jeff sessions.

Acosta's right to have that mic in his hand ended the minute he asked his question. The girl was retrieving the mic to give to the next reporter. That's her job. Acosta was preventing every other reporter from doing their job.

As Acosta said, he wanted to continue questioning the president. But it was not his interrogation. He was out if line on many fronts. He was right to lose his credentials.

Gotta love how they declare CNN to be “ fake news”

To prove it, they pull out a doctored video from InfoWars

You can’t make this shit up
That's exactly what the did. Made it up.

How was the video "doctored" to show something misleading.

They sped up Acosta’s arm movement to turn him brushing her arm to make it look like he was aggressively hitting her
Unbelievable the White House could try to pull crap like that

i have been a part of the "press" for much of my life in some form or another. i'm tired of people using freedom of press as an excuse to be an asshole.

Do you really believe that shit or are you just trolling? I can't tell.

I was just trolling on the whole Acosta rape thing, but it was in response to this level of nonsense.

Technically, she is right. The aide committed simple assault. If we get into that level of technicality, then Acosta committed petty theft of the mic, and had gone beyond the scope of his invitation by taking over control of the conference, which is criminal trespass. (I assume DC standards are the same as Texas)

Let's all agree that it was a situation where Acosta lost his temper because Trump was somewhat evasive and did not give him the answer he wanted, so Acosta decided he wanted to argue (not his job or right). A real journalist would report Trump's answer and report what he would not answer.

Acosta could have exposed any of Trump's evasiveness by reporting it, not cross-examining the POTUS in a press conference. That is never appropriate.

This is what happens when journalists get political and partisan. They lose objectivity and credibility.

Wrong

Her job is to politely ask....May I please have the mike?
She can not physically take it from him

I’m sorry

But with Trumps evasiveness and tendency to bully, a reporter has no option but to be aggressive

And, his duty is to give it to her when she demands it. He is not running that conference. That is criminal trespass. They could have hauled him out in cuffs and perp walked him right past the CNN news van for the entire world to see.

Acosta committed the first criminal act.

Oh, that is a BULLSHIT excuse. Journalists do not have a right to demand answers from anyone. They have the right to ask only. If they don't get the answer they want or if the answers are evasive, they report it. That's it.

I am sick of this bull fucking shit about reporters or journalists having the right to demand answers. Fuck them. That is not journalism.

Acosta is in no way a journaist. He's a talking head. It's laughable to call hinm a journalist. He very likely pulled that stunt on purpose just to get attention.

I have never seen a President order that a microphone be taken from a reporter

Do you think Acosta is the first reporter ever to insist on asking a question?
Most presidents know how to tactfully handle aggressive reporters
