Swiss to vote on income for all

How about capping executive pay to 12 times the pay of the lowest salaried employee?

Is that "left" or "right"?

It is "stupid". I guess even the Swiss f**k up every once in a while. That isn't the government though, that is a direct referendum.

our leftards do not understand the difference.
Neither do they know any specifics of the Swiss lifestyle, which has not changed much for centuries.
It is a very closed society and they decide a lot by referendums.

Which is ANYTHING but left

Are you seriously trying to claim that direct democracy is a right wing idea?

It will be their own undoing eventually.

Nope. They have absolutely different way of living. It is almost impossible to become a naturalized Swiss citizen - to start with.

How can anybody consider that "liberal" is beyond me
Absolutely agree. The Swiss have indeed elected right wing governments for several decades now. They also have a high rate of gun ownership. Not to mention one of the lowest abortion rates in the world. It is also very hard to become a citizen there.

Kidding aside, if they do allow the guaranteed $2800.00 per month to every adult, then I would possibly consider moving there. There are several ways to legally make the move. After some research, the most feasible approach would be to get a job offer from a Swiss company. Another approach (for single folks) would be to marry a Swiss citizen.

Guaranteed $2800 monthly?!? How do I go about moving to Switzerland? If this does pass, I'm sure they'll get a flood of applications requesting immigration status.

The Swiss have always been very well respected and have a long Republican tradition, generally electing right wing governments. They also have a very high rate of gun ownership in Switzerland, and very low crime.

Switzerland is Liberal. How could anyone say they're conservative when they have health care for everyone and are promoting less income disparity?

Classical liberals, christian democrats, conservatives and right-wing populists get 70% of the general vote. Greens and social democrats get 30%. They even have a non-socialist green party (Grünliberale).

Their federal corporate and personal income top tax rates are 8.5% and 11,5%. How progressive is that?

They have recently voted against more paid vacation, against higher taxes on the wealthy, against a 36 hours working week, against the 1:12 cap on executive salaries... And their immigration/citizenship policies are easily the most restrictive in western Europe, even if foreigners make 20% of the swiss population (restrictive does not mean racist).

Their health care system is universal... and mostly private:

ObamaCare is private, too.

it's an uphill battle.

for our brainwashed leftards military and police are examples of "socialism" ( seriously that is what some tried to use as arguments )so I can assure you this bunch won't understand, that Switzerland is, was and always will be right and conservative - because they are so confused on the terminology and the definitions that the black is white and the white is black for many of them.
