Two Florida teens died when their Tesla burst into flames after hitting a concrete wall.



Well it seems these types of cars are going over like lead balloons.

Actually, in some rare cases they can. It's not something that happens often, but in rare cases, it does happen.

It's rare for this to happen in a collision, but it's not unheard of. Back in 2008, the National Fire Protection Association looked at how US vehicles catch fire. From 2002 to 2005, only 3% of the vehicles that caught fire on US highways did so because of a collision, but that corresponded to 8,100 fires. While most of those fires started in the engine and were less likely to be fatal, around 10% of the collisions that involved fire were because of a fire from the fuel tank or fuel line. Just because something happens rarely doesn't mean it can't happen.

They have never "exploded". That is an urban myth perpetrated by Hollywood. Normal cars do catch fire though, often; more often than Tesla's do.

So being able to land used rocket parts on a ship when all the governments on the face of the planet could not make him a flim flam man? Get real! Investers get nervous that is the way they are! Musk has a long history of success behind him he is going no where! Sorry! Wait until the AMerican motor heads start driving the Telsa. When they find out the type of torque these cars offer they will no longer be longing for the muscle cars of the seventies, the Tesla will shit and get like no other car they have ever driven. I grew up where there was a speed shop and church on every other corner. When those guys experience 0 to 60 that the Tesla offers it will be over. If they can afford one they will have it in their garage!
