Liberty requires a number of conditions but one very important one is the concept of free speech. Free speech cannot exist unless all opinions--right ones, wrong ones, absurd ones, angry ones, helpful ones, insulting ones, etc.--are allowed by the authority governing all the people. Certainly private enterprise can censor certain speech in the interest of morality or the common good, but it was never given to the federal government to regulate or censor speech in any way.

One thing that I think Elon Musk did not consider when he determined that X (formerly Twitter) be a platform for free speech, i.e. an open and welcoming platform for an exchange of all ideas, points of view, opinion, beliefs short of trampling on others' rights. In an effort to make his censored (by the left) platform profitable or at least hold its own, he initiated a premium membership that allowed those paying a fairly hefty fee to be seen by most.

That policy left hundreds of millions of us who cannot or choose not to pay for a premium account to be essentially invisible on that forum. And in this election year, that gives the left much more advantage to control almost all of the message.
