You see, here's the thing. I don't watch MSNBC at all... and yet the first thing I thought of when I heard that Trump was locking up thousands of kids in cages and separating them from their parents was the concentration camps. Now, yes, I'm more inclined to think of Trump as (that word you won't let us use anymore on these threads), mostly because he had a copy of (that guy you don't want us to talk about)'s speeches on his nightstand according to his ex-wife.

What's pumping 'sickness' into this country is a man we didn't vote for using a daily diet of hate, racism and divisiveness into the political discussion, and if the media is to blame for anything, it's for treating this like it's Normal.

During the primaries, they gave Trump tons of airtime because he was good for ratings. During the general election, they felt a need to balance every new story about Trump's pussy-grabbing or corruption with a story about something Hillary was cleared of years ago. And once he became president, they've tried to pretend that his unhinged behavior is normal, and what are you guys complaining about and oh, now we have concentration camps!

Trump calls the free Press "Fake News" and "the Enemy of the People', and the media treats this like it's normal. That's the problem here.

It's hard to hear news about the VA when the coverage is wall to wall victory celebrations of an aging porn star or shouting hate about the elected president or hours of Nazi naming.. Probably a MUCH higher percentage of VA coverage on Fox without the hourly Stormy Daniels updates and Morning Joe playing footsie with Mika under the desk.

Okay, here's the first problem. Neither Fox nor MSNBC talk all that much about the VA "crisis", which is largely being ginned up by people who see another opportunity for private companies to loot the VA like they've looted so much of the rest of the government. (Frankly, all my dealings with the VA have been very professional and they do some good work.)

But if there is a reason why they are ginning up Stormy Daniels instead of "Real" stories, the problem has a lot more to do with commercial reasons.

It used to be, when it was just the three major news networks, it was expected that you run your news divisions at a loss. It was a public service to report the news, and if you needed to sell Corn Flakes, that was the job of the Beverly Hillbillies.

Then someone decided that the news was all about ratings. That meant covering stories that were entertaining instead of informative, it meant spending money to put expensive celebrities behind those news desks instead of paying for reporters out in the field. It meant you hired people not for their skills as journalists, but how good they looked behind the camera.

And that became worse when you had 24/7 news stations. The amount of news to cover didn't increase, but you had to fill in that much more time.

So a story about how the VA hospital in Moose Jaw isn't properly funded is kind of boring, but an ex-porn star relating how she spanked Trump with a cover of Forbes is interesting. Just like 20 years ago, these same characters just couldn't stop talking about Monica Lewinsky and Cigars. Hey, we think this terrorist army is forming in the middle east? Meh, never mind, Ken Starr just found a stained dress!

You mean they have a valid complaint about an agency that is abusing people and should probably be replaced? Hey, here's the thing, ICE is a relatively new agency. The reason why there is an ICE is because after 9/11, the Immigration and Naturalization Service got a lot of grief in that they were still sending out Visa extensions to guys who had just flown planes into the WTC. That's how much they didn't know what they were doing.

So it was reorganized into ICE, an agency that really doesn't care about nicities like "Human rights". The image of concentration camps on the Southern Border, people are rethinking this agency, and they should.

Because neither YOUR TEAM or your media is doing a thing to instill confidences in the problem solving or leadership categories.

Maybe because we have no confidence in our leadership...

The thing is, at the end of the day, Trump is a Buffoon, YOUR TEAM knew he was a buffoon, and you voted for him anyway, not thinking he would actually win. And after two years of dehumanizing immigrants, (not just the illegal ones), you act all surprised that he is opening these camps and we are calling them bad names.

The pundit class have officially snapped over the Trump administration’s zero-tolerance border enforcement policy. Since Friday, the collective breakdown has yielded a total of 22 instances in which cable news commentators compared the separation of parents and children illegally entering the country to World War II-era war crimes and human rights violations.

The Holocaust was invoked 12 times across CNN and MSNBC between June 15 and the 18th, generally in the form of comparisons between DHS detention centers and Nazi concentration camps. There were also six mentions of Japanese-American internment camps, as well as four comparisons to slavery.

On Friday, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough opened Morning Joe with a tasteless Holocaust reference. “Children are being marched away to showers,” he intoned, “just like the Nazis said they were taking people to the showers, and then they never came back. You’d think they would use another trick.”

Over the weekend, CNN political commentator Dave Jacobson threw a miniature tantrum over the policy. On Saturday’s CNN Newsroom during the 10 a.m. hour, he opined, “Donald Trump increasingly looks like Hitler in Nazi Germany.” The following day, he appeared again on Newsroom in the afternoon to embellish on his already hysterical take: “Increasingly, Donald Trump is turning this nation into Nazi Germany and turning these [detention centers] into concentration camps.”


MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, evidently eager to join in the hyperventilating excitement, managed to last less than a minute before evoking concentration camps while hosting Hardball on Monday. Throughout the show, he repeatedly interrupted guests to draw their attention to images of crying children that flashed across the screen.

The only discernible difference between what Donald Trump is doing to undocumented immigrants on our southern border and what the Nazis did all over Europe to Jews is that the Nazis had to go from house to house to round up their victims, while all Trump’s Border Patrol has to do is wait for their victims to walk or swim across the border.

That’s it. Practically everything else is the same. The actions Trump’s Border Enforcement agents are taking when they separate immigrant children at processing centers from their parents have nothing to do with law enforcement. Neither did the Nazis when they separated Jewish children from their parents inside the gates of Buchenwald and Auschwitz and Dachau. Trump’s agents on the border are carrying out a policy promulgated by his administration. Nazi SS stormtroopers were carrying out the policy of rounding up political opponents, “undesirables,” and Jews, and incarcerating them in concentration camps. These camps were entirely extra-legal. You didn’t have to be convicted of a crime to be incarcerated in a concentration camp. Nor have the immigrants and their children being held in hastily constructed cages been convicted of crimes.

The “crime” in Hitler’s Germany and occupied countries was being Jewish. The “crime” committed by the children being rounded up and caged along our southern border is being brown and undocumented.
