The Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act passed a couple days ago

Americans _won_ because pro-lifers _lost_.

Uh... that's not possible.

Ya see scamp, There are NO Leftist Americans.

Ya see Scamp... Nature precludes the means for one to simultaneously adhere to both the Thesis and the Antithesis.

See how that works?

Why does it flop around? You are admitting that a late-term abortion is a tremendously painful experience for the baby like death would be for anyone brutally murdered.

Who cares why it flops around? I don't.

To you a newborn baby like this is nothing more than a turkey who's just been slaughtered.
The Nazi isn't worth your time. The only thing he proves is that his sort of person doesn't need to be anywhere near a your children.

Since he mindlessly doesn't become maleficent but posts incessantly, he (or it) is impossible to ignore though.

That's exactly what he's trying to accomplish. If he posts often enough and inflammatorily enough about enough unrelated things, then he can distract us and derail the conversation. If he can keep us distracted, then he can control both our reactions to him and the discussion as a whole. It's partially social engineering and partially trolling/dick waving. I've come to learn that this is standard blue team procedure on this forum. If they don't like a thread then they'll try to drive it off the rails with flaming, buffoonery, and agitprop. The number of participants in this and the lengths they go to do so are directly proportional to how threatening they feel a story or narrative is.

Yea, and it often works if not almost always, but a lot of the posts are sheer ignorance or feeblemindedness.

Which is why I've had him on ignore since I first met him, when he tried to make the case that the fight against Islamist militants is driven by racism against Islam. He'd come off it if he ever posted an opinion that he didn't get directly from Democratic Underground.

I think late-term abortion is driven by a mad desire for power since it is NEVER safer than giving birth no matter what the circumstance, and the baby can ALWAYS be given away for adoption.

Issue Clash: Late Abortions . NOW on PBS

Under what, if any, circumstances are late abortions an appropriate procedure?

Answers

Troy Newman: The pro-life ethic defines human life from the moment of conception until natural death. Abortion, or the killing of a pre-born child, is never appropriate. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment reports that there has never been a late-term abortion in Kansas to save a woman's life. The majority of physicians concur that a post-viability abortion is never medically necessary. If there is a life-threatening condition to the mother or child, the baby should be delivered and given the appropriate medical treatment.

Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

(1) A moral, medical, and ethical consensus exists that the practice of performing a partial-birth abortion...is a gruesome and inhumane procedure that is never medically necessary and should be prohibited.

(2) Rather than being an abortion procedure that is embraced by the medical community, particularly among physicians who routinely perform other abortion procedures, partial-birth abortion remains a disfavored procedure that is not only unnecessary to preserve the health of the mother, but in fact poses serious risks to the long-term health of women and in some circumstances, their lives...

Fetuses aren't babies.

Again, you guys need to get real. No fetus survives if it is born before the 22nd week, which is where 99.9% of abortions occur. When they do occur after the 20th week, it's usually because something has gone wrong- a defect has been discovered, etc.

In short, what you are saying to a woman who has already going through ten kinds of hell is, "Hey, we are going to put you through some more hell by making you watch as your doctor goes through the futile motions of trying to keep your fetus alive! Then we are going to sock you or your insurance company with a $50,000 medical bill.'

YOu are right, i do feel threatened by religious nuts trying to model society on trying to please an imaginary sky pixie. Not just on this issue, where the Doctors have already gotten the issue well in hand, but gay marriage, prayer in schools or anywhere else.

If you wingnuts cared as much about poor children who are already here as you do about the medical waste, we'd probably live in a really decent society.

Guy, we aren't talking about babies, we are talkinga bout pregnancies that have gone wrong and would produce a deformed child who'd have no chance at a normal life. These are the women you nuts want to torture.

Why I had an abortion after 20 weeks

My husband and I reached for each other’s hands. We asked the technician if everything was all right, and she said we should wait for a doctor to talk to us. When the OB/GYN entered, I remember asking point-blank, “Is there a chance our child will be okay?” He responded kindly, softly and unequivocally: “No.”

Over the next week came referrals to high-risk pregnancy specialists and more, longer, in-depth ultrasounds. In our baby’s brain cavity, where gray matter should have been visible, there was only black. The diagnosis was the same from every doctor: Something — we would learn it was not genetic or chromosomal — had caused two leaks in our baby’s brain, one on each side, destroying it almost entirely.

According to the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, just more than 1 percent of abortions take place at week 21 or later, many because of devastating medical situations like ours. Each of these mothers must battle through her own hell to decide on and find the medical care she needs, gather her friends and family to lean on, and grieve.

That is not at all true. The bill protects ALL babies delivered alive whether they would be deformed or eventually healthy, and everything in between.

Fetuses aren't babies.

A medical miracle: World's most premature baby, born at 21 weeks and five days, goes home to her delighted parents

A record-breaking baby girl who was born at just 21 weeks and five days has spent Easter at home with her delighted parents after spending five months in neonatal care.

Premature babies: How 24 week-old babies are now able to survive

Out of 4,001 births, the first EPICure study (another study took place in 2006 and the latest, following the original children, now aged 19, is due to be finished next year) found that 311 babies survived and were eventually discharged, including two babies born at 22 weeks, six at 23 weeks, 100 at 24 weeks and 186 babies at 25.

Again, you guys need to get real. No fetus survives if it is born before the 22nd week, which is where 99.9% of abortions occur. When they do occur after the 20th week, it's usually because something has gone wrong- a defect has been discovered, etc.

If 10,000 babies each year are delivered alive during a late-term abortion or some similar number, they need protection from abuse and not thoughtlessness. Once born, they are people like you and me.

Oh my, heaven forbid.

Sgt Nazi Boy doesn't even have the intellectual honesty to recognize the difference between a fetus and a baby, while looking at the definition in a medical dictionary. Letting him control your reactions is pointless.

Fetuses aren't babies.

Biologically, there is no difference between a late-term unborn baby and a preemie at the same stage of development, born early.

Again, you guys need to get real. No fetus survives if it is born before the 22nd week, which is where 99.9% of abortions occur. When they do occur after the 20th week, it's usually because something has gone wrong- a defect has been discovered, etc.

So there should be no problem encoding it into law then.

Yeah, but it's hilarious to point out what a bunch of rubes you Pro-Life (not really) types are.

Hey, guy, I've been watching you for 40 years. You are no closer now than you were 42 years ago when SCOTUS had the good sense to strike down the Abortion laws.

You have managed to destroy the middle class by electing assholes like Reagan and the Bush Crime Family do the will of the plutocrats. But you haven't stopped one abortion from happening.
