We may as well carve out a department of the FBI for partisan political investigations.
Save time.
Better make it a BIG department.

So what if he didn’t have to? He did.
McConnell was not the fist Senate Majority Leader to have an opposition President fill a seatSo what if he didn’t have to? He did.No, by telling a sitting president he would not be allowed to seat any more Supreme Court justices for the remainder of his presidency.
Majority Leader McConnell didn't have to tell the President anything, the vote wasn't happening, because he wasn't bringing it to the floor and had the power necessary to make it so.
Congressmen and Senators have to run for election and do not get lifetime appointmentsIf those were the same standards for congress and the senate, we would have no one in washington.....that would be good.

He is the first to unilaterally deny a President that right
The court system will never be the same

It is not a partisan investigation. Democrats lack the power to do so
The investigation is happening because REPUBLICANS like Flake, Collins and Murkowski want the facts before they vote

First, Second, Last, Left, Right, it doesn't matter, he didn't deny anything. The President had the right to nominate a Supreme Court Justice, and did. Majority Leader McConnell used the power he was granted, as the result of elected representatives in Congress, to vote on whatever he felt the desire to vote on. The President's nomination for Supreme Court Justice just wasn't what he chose.
Perhaps you meant Majority Leader McConnell used his power to block on a vote on the nomination, and President Obama failed to nominate a Supreme Court Justice that compelled the Senate Majority Leader to bring the vote to the Senate Floor.
You may see where this is going, no one has more power than they are granted, and if anything changes, it will be because the people involved with the power they have granted to them, agree on a nominee (minus the idea that some folks that don't have the power may play politics, and do even more to keep anything from happening).

The investigation is happening, because Senators Flake, Collins, and Murkowski haven't indicated they will vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh. Everything else involved is the result of partisan politics to some measure or another.

Yes he did
All previous Majority Leaders refused to use that power and respected a Presidents right to select Supreme Court Justices
Now, the genie is out of the bottle and the selection process will never be the same
And there's no reason to believe that this won't get worse going forward.

Obviously, I mean that any nomination that can be contested will be, no matter how blatantly or transparently, to the point of absurdity. This can certainly get even worse.Worse than what? How is anything going to make it worse? Now if you would like to fix what is wrong, that can be done. And there's no reason to believe that this won't get worse going forward.

A weasel move.
A weasel move.
Welcome to partisan politics.
It does? Then it should be no problem for you to quote Biden saying no nominee Bush names will get a confirmation hearing for the remainder of his presidency...There is now a McConnell Rule that says a Senate controlled by an opposition party is under no obligation to consider his Supreme Court picks
Odd, that sounds JUST like the Biden Rule, which he created, while he was Chair of the Judiciary Committee.
