The differences between left and right....

The ones who have gotten off of it have found that their lives are much better.
Damned right they have, no one "likes" being on assistance even though many have come to accept it as the only way to keep their kids fed while they work shit jobs.

And they have shit jobs because of big government.
People have shit jobs because a lot of people have shit jobs and cannot afford goods and services provided by decently paid employees. Get some money flowing through the working class economy and all that changes.

So people have shitty jobs because a lot of people have shitty jobs?
Wow real intellectual aren't you?
They have shit jobs because big government is cutting off the ability for employers to give good paying jobs.

So when Disney brings in H1 visa workers to replace their domestic IT team......that's the government's fault?

How do you think the H-1 visa happened?
Congress voted on it.

The right is all about the 1 percent and the beloved corporations and ensuring they get theirs so the rest can have what little is left. They also love to say "well if you are willing to work hard you can become wealthy" or better yet "a college education is a waste of time" etc. In other words, you should be thankful for you $10 an hour job, while they know that one cannot pay one single bill on that wage. If the average poor worker ever wakes up things will change.

Yes....I'm sure hilary and all of her donors and obama with all of his Wall Street friends agree with you....:blahblah:
If you find this as objectionable as I do then find it objectionable in your own politicians. Do you think Wall Street has too much power or do do just hate that they do not exclusively support "business friendly" Republicans.

Government has too much power to grant favors and to punish the enemies of favored businesses.....reduce government and you reduce the power of big business....regardless of the party....
Reduce the power of government and big business will step into the resultant power vacuum. This is not theory, it is how our plutocracy is being built. Power cannot be destroyed, only transformed, why do you want less accountability for the powerful?

People are paid what the market will support and what they can successfully negotiate. You are familiar with the concept of "liquidity" I presume, that money moving through the economy creates more money? If all working class wages goes to necessity then there is no disposable income and little liquidity, all those wages go right into deep pockets and stays there.

Exactly. Economic inequality just isn't healthy. Consolidating the vast majority of our nation's wealth into a tiny number of hands creates vast imbalances of power. Power that will and has been abused. Its also absymal for the economy. As it locks of tremendous amounts of capital that could otherwise be used to create more wealth. 'Don't ever touch principal' may be a mantra of the uber wealthy. But its not particularly helpful to the economy.

Worse of all, genius is just a numbers game. And when you consolidate most of the access to capital and influence to a tiny number of people, you obtusely and stupidly underutilize those individuals among the lower classes that have incredible ability. And there are going to be way, way more geniuses in much larger groups than much smaller groups.

It also leads to economic instablity, as too much of our tax base is drawn from too few people. If they have a bad year, the tax base falters. If wealth is spread farther and wider, you have a larger number of people to draw upon for the same tax base. And reduced odds of them all facing severe economic turmoil at the exact same time.

And Disney applied for the VIsas, picked IT people they could pay at vastly lower rates, and fired their domestic team. That's hardly 'big government cutting off the ability for employers to give good paying jobs'. That's big business pursuing a way to avoid paying for good paying jobs.

I listen to Dennis Prager almost every day.....and you should too.....here he is explaining the differences between the left and right in America....

To Defend a Position You Must Understand Both Sides National Review Online

DIFFERENCE NO. 1: IS MAN BASICALLY GOOD?

Directly from Prager:

Left-of-center doctrines hold that people are basically good. On the other side, conservative doctrines hold that man is born morally flawed — not necessarily born evil, but surely not born good.

Read more at: To Defend a Position You Must Understand Both Sides National Review Online

Really? Then why do conservatives insist on deregulating everything,

and trusting businesses to do the right thing based on their inherent GOODNESS?

And what is causing the working class to have all their wages going towards necessity?
Could be because the bigger the government the costs rise?
Utilities, gas, rent all because of huge government regulations and taxes.

Wrong, idiot. The working class is losing ground because the Rich have stolen the value of their productivity for themselves.

These are a matter of supply and demand. Rent prices go up when the market will bear them. They go down when it won't. Gas prices go up and down with the price of oil, which too is largely a product of supply and demand.

It Disney that did the importing of labor. They were more than 'allowed' to keep their domestic IT team. They CHOSE to import cheaper labor and fire their team. This isn't government 'making' business cut good paying jobs. This is government allowing business to cut good paying jobs.

With business fighting for the ability to get rid of the good paying jobs.

Bullshit, energy and commodities prices are just about the least government regulated thing there is, alas it is all heavily manipulated by traders and bankers on Wall Street to maximize profit regardless of supply and demand.

EPA is controlling a lot of it with their regulations.
But I agree that we need to get rid of the marriage we have now between Wall St. and Congress.

You can't read can you?
The Government is not helping them, it is creating more poverty.
Not doing anything to ameliorate poverty creates torches and pitchforks, and nooses. Hungry people are angry people, one of the few absolutes to be found in human society. The lessons of the French revolution have not been lost on the powerful even if run of the mill conservatives have forgotten it. Yank away food stamps and you will just have to spend that money on military police and prisons.

You think that Government is the only answer and it isn't.
We as a National have always helped our needy and poor.
The Government programs have caused more to be on the welfare programs.
Cutting back on food stamps has happened many times and there has never been anything like that here in America.
The Republicans have been cutting back on food stamps since 2013 and we still don't have anyone out there with torches and pitchforks.

We, as a people, have spent nearly 5 TRILLION dollars "ending" poverty in the United States alone since that idiot LBJ began his "Great Society" bullshit in 1964.

There are as many people in "poverty" now, as there was then.

Government cures nothing.
The war on poverty was subverted years ago to make up for flat wages and disappearing benefits. Jack up wages and the number of people on assistance will drop precipitously as people no longer meet the income requirements, simple, yet Republicans want to keep wages as low as possible. Why is that?

Jesus......

5 TRILLION dollars.

I'm old enough to remember how things were before the EPA, the thought that so many want to go back to those days is sickening. The EPA has such strict regulations because industry once tried to poison us all just to save a buck and will again if given half a chance. We spend billions every year just to clean up the waste dumps of long defunct businesses that just closed their doors to avoid responsibility.

OK how do you do that? Raise all the maximum limits on dangerous pollutants? How much? Until polluting industries are happy? They will not be happy until they can dump toxic waste in your front yard and get away with it.
