The differences between left and right....

You can't read can you?
The Government is not helping them, it is creating more poverty.
Not doing anything to ameliorate poverty creates torches and pitchforks, and nooses. Hungry people are angry people, one of the few absolutes to be found in human society. The lessons of the French revolution have not been lost on the powerful even if run of the mill conservatives have forgotten it. Yank away food stamps and you will just have to spend that money on military police and prisons.

You think that Government is the only answer and it isn't.
We as a National have always helped our needy and poor.
The Government programs have caused more to be on the welfare programs.
Cutting back on food stamps has happened many times and there has never been anything like that here in America.
The Republicans have been cutting back on food stamps since 2013 and we still don't have anyone out there with torches and pitchforks.

We, as a people, have spent nearly 5 TRILLION dollars "ending" poverty in the United States alone since that idiot LBJ began his "Great Society" bullshit in 1964.

There are as many people in "poverty" now, as there was then.

Government cures nothing.
The war on poverty was subverted years ago to make up for flat wages and disappearing benefits. Jack up wages and the number of people on assistance will drop precipitously as people no longer meet the income requirements, simple, yet Republicans want to keep wages as low as possible. Why is that?

No...the left understands that getting people hooked on government gives them control over those people...that is why they don't care if the education system sucks, and that more people can't provide for themselves.....

Neither one of those men had a problem dealing with the ambiguous nature of humanity.

100% stupid and liberal. Jefferson caused a revolution by creating the first country in human history based on the idea of freedom from liberal government. There was no ambiquity in his thinking. He knew freedom was the answer.

Marx merely came up with the 10,000th rationale for yet another big liberal govt and holds the record for getting the most people killed in human history. Whoops!!. It could have been worse. That version of liberalism only killed 150 million or so.

Hey.....they just need to kill another 100 million or so and for sure they will get it right.....

So you have compassion for the needy and want the government to effectively provide temporary help to those that need it? Good to meet a fellow progressive.

Not yet. These things develop slowly but happen very quickly and the aristocracy and their loyalists never see it coming.

The ones who have gotten off of it have found that their lives are much better.

And Prager begins.....

Left-of-center doctrines hold that people are basically good. On the other side, conservative doctrines hold that man is born morally flawed — not necessarily born evil, but surely not born good. Yes, we are born innocent — babies don’t commit crimes, after all — but we are not born good. Whether it is the Christian belief in original sin or the Jewish belief that we are all born with a yetzer tov (good inclination) and a yetzer ra (bad inclination) that are in constant conflict, the root value systems of the West never held that we are naturally good.
This is incorrect, liberals do not believe people are basically good, they believe that people are a product of their raising. The nature vs nurture argument was only ever the "rational" tool of elitists and racists.

And Prager says....

Perhaps the most obvious one is that conservatives blame those who engage in violent criminal activity for their behavior more than liberals do. Liberals argue that poverty, despair, and hopelessness cause poor people, especially poor blacks — in which case racism is added to the list — to riot and commit violent crimes.

Damned right they have, no one "likes" being on assistance even though many have come to accept it as the only way to keep their kids fed while they work shit jobs.

The difference between the left and right?

There are many but one is that those on the right love America while those on the left love Americans.

Then why is it our right leaning posters that are constantly talking shit about our nation, lamenting it as lost, and predicting its collapse?

The right is all about the 1 percent and the beloved corporations and ensuring they get theirs so the rest can have what little is left. They also love to say "well if you are willing to work hard you can become wealthy" or better yet "a college education is a waste of time" etc. In other words, you should be thankful for you $10 an hour job, while they know that one cannot pay one single bill on that wage. If the average poor worker ever wakes up things will change.

If you think Marxism is liberal Google "lumpenprole". Marxism has no use for people who do not contribute to production or pursue base interests and vices. Your post also illustrates the conservative inability to deal with ambiguity, lumping everything into one big basket rather than exploring what makes things different. It's laziness of the worst kind.

People have shit jobs because a lot of people have shit jobs and cannot afford goods and services provided by decently paid employees. Get some money flowing through the working class economy and all that changes.

Wow real intellectual aren't you?
They have shit jobs because big government is cutting off the ability for employers to give good paying jobs.

If you find this as objectionable as I do then find it objectionable in your own politicians. Do you think Wall Street has too much power or do do just hate that they do not exclusively support "business friendly" Republicans.

So when Disney brings in H1 visa workers to replace their domestic IT team......that's the government's fault?

Government has too much power to grant favors and to punish the enemies of favored businesses.....reduce government and you reduce the power of big business....regardless of the party....

But do you? Because if you reduce government power, you reduce the counterbalance that keeps business in check. Minimum wages, workplace safety laws, environmental regulations, overtime requirements, anti-discrimination laws......those don't exist because business has such a superb record of regulating itself.

And the big one: anti-competitive practices. Remember, business hates the engine of capitalism: competition. They do everything they can to rid themselves of it. With a powerful tendancy toward consolidation into regional monopolies. Take Comcast cable and Time Warner. They don't compete. They are the 800lb gorilla's in the respective markets.

Price fixing, wage fixing, high cost paid priority access to the market that startups can't match, gobbling of startups and competition, etc. all exist under business without government regulation. As there is no force to balance it.

People are paid what the market will support and what they can successfully negotiate. You are familiar with the concept of "liquidity" I presume, that money moving through the economy creates more money? If all working class wages goes to necessity then there is no disposable income and little liquidity, all those wages go right into deep pockets and stays there.
