Racism is comely used today to include ethnic discrimination, Hispanics, Native Americans, etc..

To be honest, I am sick and tired of labels. People seem to be interested in more and more labels which do nothing but further divide people into separate groups. Terms like racism, sexism, etc., etc., etc., etc., are used to describe everything these days. Everything is a hate crime now so a hate crime has become meaningless. At some level, there is a certain hate involved in every crime! So what is the point. I get tired of people labeling everything in terms of skin colour or sex, and when you try to address the issue in terms of what it really is, they accuse you of ignoring the issue!

I agree. However, that is the world we live in. Most Republicans have varying degrees of support for most conservative issues just as all Democrats don't support every liberal cause. Just about everyone is at least a little bit racist and sexist while others are fanatics.

Most politicians understand that political issues are rarely just black or white. They are almost always shades of gray. This is what makes them so difficult to solve. For example in healthcare, the individual mandate from an ethical standpoint is just plain wrong but without it, the healthiest Americans and most profitable customers for insurance companies will cancel their insurance pushing insanely high costs even higher. If you look at some of the issues congress is dealing with, the white hats and black hats start turning grey because there just aren't that many easy answers.

Unfortunately for Trump, communications is a major part of his job. Trump apparently never learned that words do have consequences.

Yeah, they said that when he made the Rosie comment: that words do have consequences.

They said that when he made the Kelly comment: that words do have consequences.

They said that when he made the Mexican immigrant comment: that words do have consequences.

They said that when he picked at the other GOP candidates: that words do have consequences.

They said that when Ann Coulter picked him to win the nomination: that words do have consequences.

They said that when the night of the election when everyone thought Hillary was going to win: that words do have consequences.

They thought that when he fired Comey over the Russia and Hillary investigations: that words do have consequences.

They thought that the other day of his CNN Tweets: that words do have consequences.

Truth is that words do have consequences. They have consequences what he says to the voters. Promises He Made. Promises He Kept. The list just grows longer by the day.

Those are the only words that matter.

Everything a president says and does matters because foreign and domestic policy is defined by the presidents words and actions. Economist for the largest corporations, congressmen, judges, foreign leaders, and every agency in government are always trying to determine just where the president will stand on a particular issue.

Less than a year ago, Trump says, "Perhaps we should be focused on developing energy sources and power production that alleviates the need for dependence on fossil fuels." Only months after saying that, he tweets that global warning is a hoax and questions whether the country should invest in alternative energy.

Last year Trump says he met Putin. A few days ago he doesn't remember every meeting Putin; one of the most powerful political leaders in the world and he doesn't know if he ever met him.

Mix messages and lies from the president erodes confidence. Trump said in his campaign his unpredictability was his secret weapon. Well that might be the case when making business deals but for a president it can be disastrous.
