The First Republican Debate/ results

Best line of the night. Trump to Megyn Kelly: "I don't have time for political correctness and neither does this country". BOOM!!!! He made major points

I love how conservatives think that makes Trump look Presidential

I love how libtards like you still don't understand what is driving Trumps popularity across the board.
Of course I do

Conservatives are confused by shiny objects

lol, thank you for PROVING you don't get it.

Americas growing rejection of the Professional Political Class is the undercurrent here, not Trump himself.

In this week's debate one candidate - Mr Huckabee - said that the purpose of the military is to 'kill people and destroy things'. Great debate, don't you think so? Great nominees.

No...actually I do get it

The same illiterate morons who dwell on every word from Sarah Palin rally around Donald Trump

Trump ran away with the Drudge poll on who won the debate, he had almost 200,000 votes while Cruz was far back at 50,000. Trump is a contender

Trump is a spineless fence-sitter, a flop-flopper, a back-stabber who covers up his cowardice with bombast and hyperbole.
Most likely he is a Democrat plant.

Did you think the military had some other purpose?

Who really won the debate? Hillary Clinton.

Hardly. Clinton was - correctly - diagnosed as a LIAR by a woman who is twice as smart, twice as savvy, and a multiple times as honest as Hillary, whose only claim to fame is being married to the serial rapist, philander and cheater of the 20th century.

Election night result: 'President Bush and Vice President Carly F'.
You can take this prediction to the bank.

Jeb is the 'clown' and @-hole', not Trump. Americans DEMAND securing the border and the majority oppose rewarding criminals with amnesty, especially nothing until the borders are secure and AMERICANS are made the priority above criminals! Just like the current Washington Establishment RINOS in DC, however, Jeb is NOT listening to the American people and has no interest in REPRESENTING them.

When he was 1st asked what his platform would be, he responded by saying addressing the AMNESTY issue (not illegal immigration issue) and said he would work to make them citizens. His 1st concern SHOULD be Americans and the problems AMERICANS face, not the plight of criminals who have disrespected this nation and our laws to come here 1st and foremost for their own benefit. Maybe the problem is Jeb is P*whipped..or maybe he is just a P*! No matter what the issue, Jeb is NOT what is best for this country.

Fiorina is a smart woman with some good ideas. If I was FORCED into taking these 2 as our candidates, the only way I would do so is to have Fiorina as the Presidential candidate and Jeb as VP. He should have no problem with that...he is use to taking orders from the women in his life (mamma & his wife).

For securing the border, Democrats should look to their role models, the Soviets:

Electrified fence where needed. Minefields everywhere else. Manned watch towers every 300 yards. Shoot before asking questions. Let those who got shot rot or dry out where they lie, to show examples to future law breakers.

The unqualified success of the "IRON CURTAIN" should give inspiration for success to curb the illegal "immigration".

If internet polls mean anything ...Ron Paul would be a two time President

Conservatives/Libertarians swamp internet polls....they think it helps them win
All they end up doing is showing how worthless internet polls are
Liberals do the same shit Mr. Squeaky Ass

Trump is forcing the field to actually face issues. I'll give him credit for that.

But he would make a terrible president. He started out rich and has built an empire by taking risks. Those risks resulted in how many bankruptcies?

And an effective president MUST work with Congress. Trump is not known for his ability to compromise or work with a group of equal power.

Work with congress? Like obama?

Trump will be unable to work with either party in Congress

Thats all right...he has a pen and a phone.

You need one third of Congress to sustain your veto. Trump cannot count on Republicans in Congress. That is what happens when you burn your bridges

It was Trump who burned his bridges. He may give the Presidency to the Democrat nominee if his obstinacy gets the better of him, but if he does that he will surely have a close encounter with somebody who respects the Second Amendment.

Oh how I wish they'd had the Internet in 1979!

Then I could link you to the endless stories in WSJ, WP and NYT by people like George Will, who made the exact same claims of one, Ronald W. Reagan.

Let me 'splain to your stupid little ass how politics work... The man who is sitting in that chair in the Oval Office is the Boss. You may grumble and complain, at the end of the day you're going to do what the boss tells you to do. Oh I realize Trump can't fire them if they don't... and that is even more the reason they will do as he tells them. Every Senator and Representative wants to be relevant. If Trump manages to win the GOP nomination, you're going to see a remarkable change in attitudes. There will be no shortage of Republicans eagerly wanting to tap into Trump's popularity among the people and they will have a "come to Jesus" moment when they realize they have to support him.

They may not like it at first, Trump might have to make a few examples, but pretty much all these people on the Republican side who are currently bashing Trump will have had a change of heart.... funny how popular mandates can cause that to happen.

Nobody in their right mind supports a self-declared back-stabber. Which is exactly what Trump declared himself to be.

If he runs as third party candidate, his apology will come from somewhere else.

Not including Alaska and Hawaii, how many of our 57 states will Trump win?

I think he certainly wins all the red states from last election. I also think he is in contention for most of the blue states. He is from New York... has tremendous support and popularity there... Hillary is not so warmly appreciated, she bailed on them to run in 08 and then go on to work for Obummer. She probably has the Jew vote... that was smart of her to nail that down. But it definitely puts NY and all those electoral votes in play.

If Trump smartly chooses a strategic running mate he can pick off another blue state and there isn't a way for Hillary to win. Possible VP picks could be Carly Fiorina (CA) or Rubio (FL)... Kasich (OH)... Cruz (TX)... all prize cherries in the electoral basket.

When a presumed SAVIOR self admits that he is a potential back stabber logic and reason dictates that his number of popularity greatly diminish.

Sad part is that, guided by his ego, this blowhard running as third party candidate will give the Presidency to Bernie Sanders, who will not waste any time as President to snuggle to fellow non-producers their wet dream world at the expense of those who work.

This Socialist will appoint to the Supreme Court fellow free loaders with no sense of justice and no idea of how creating wealth works because all their lives they lived off somebody else's sweat.

So, go for it Donald! When Bernie comes at you for 90+% of your wealth, you will sing a more humbled different tune.

Lol, you are like the idiot that thinks he has invented a perpetual motion machine but the Patent office wont give him a patent "cuz the corporations are trying to control all new inventions."

"No, I get it, it's those damned patent clerks want to work for GD!"

Lol, no, RW, you stupid ass, you don't get it.

Trump sees himself as serving the American people not one side of the reigning duopoly that has CAUSED all our nations problems through incompetence and ideological blinders applied to every issue.

It is way past time to END THE DUOPOLY.

Hillary is a side show.

The real issue is the Iran agreement and whether Trump can break the duopoly in American politics.

Obama never tried to work with congress. He just used Harry Reid to block everything and the press to make it look like it's congress's fault.

Rubio won it IMO. Carson had a good finish. Walker disappointed.

Jeb/Rubio???

As likely as any at this stage.

Greg

No they are from the same state

Most likely Bush /Christie

Both did nothing to harm their chances. Quite liked Christie's attack dog moment. Not overdone but effective.

Greg
Yup.....I noticed everyone totally ignoring the fact that Christie and Rand Paul were shall we say....less than cordial. All they're talking about is some comments Trump made on Twitter.

Seems the Fox News crew has drawn negative reviews from more than just bloggers:

Fox debate by the numbers
By C. Edmund Wright

How low has Fox slipped?

According to the social media outlets dominated by conservatives, that is the consensus question. Fox's debate moderation was nothing short of cringe-worthy. The network’s moderators were obsessed with their own face time and with starting fights on stage between participants.

It is clear they are intending to doom Donald Trump, while remaining committed to ignoring Ted Cruz.

Consider a few stunning – and what should be embarrassing – numbers from Thursday's debate:

40: Ted Cruz was ignored for 40 straight minutes during the debate – with the mods even skipping Cruz on the topics of Iran and yes, Obamacare. How in the world can you take yourself seriously when you don't invite Cruz into an Obamacare discussion? Perhaps it's because Fox was so arrogantly assuring everyone back during the Cruz Obamacare shutdown filibuster that it was going to cost the Republicans the Senate in 2014. How did that turn out?

59: It was 59 minutes before a single moderator mentioned any Democrat – and it was a question that involved Hillary Clinton. It's as if Barack Obama hasn't been president for almost 7 years and as if these are just normal times and this is just a normal election. Maybe that's what Fox thinks. It apparently has never crossed their collective minds that what voters want is a plan for defeating the Democrats and then for rolling back the 7 years of devastation that have been wrought by them. They're not interested in any of that.

31: Talk about ego. The three moderators of the prime-time debate spent nearly a third of their time on themselves! Yes, with 10 candidates needing exposure, 31 percent of the airtime went to the Fox crew. Not even Donald Trump got close to that kind of exposure – and he got more than any other candidate by far.

1: Bret Baier doggone well knew that one, and only one candidate, would refuse to pledge to support whoever the Republican nominee is, and he started off the entire debate with that insulting and smarmy "by a show of hands" charade. This is the utmost in subtle pomposity, as it puts the moderator in the position of professor while the candidates are subconsciously relegated to student status. By the way, over the years, it's been intellectually vapid as well; almost all of the "show of hands" questions are impossible-to-fully-answer theoreticals.

Why is it a problem?? Just reported here that Trump was referring to periods. The vision I had was along the lines of this cartoon!!

Why do jerks assume all women's blood is periods??
