The Lefts Pope (Pipe) Dream

Fascinating how those who demand the right to force their own religious beliefs about gays, abortion and contraception into becoming the law of the land are decrying someone else for expressing his own beliefs.

Doesn't the Pope have as much right to express his opinion as anyone else?

Who is forcing religious beliefs about those things on others? The only ones doing that are the Left.
The Pope is free to express any opinion he wants. We are free to point out the stupidity of it.
You understand that free market capitalism has done more for poor people in 300 years than the Church has in 2000, right?

Only when it's a well regulated free market.

The endless attempts to ban abortion and gay marriage are most definitely motivated by religious beliefs. So are the current lawsuits before the SCOTUS that demand that the religious beliefs of the owners of corporations must enable them to deny contraceptive coverage to their employees.

The endless attempts to have the government take care of the poor and needy are also motivated by the religious beliefs of man. According to your logic then, we should not have the government give to the poor.

unless of course, you are only concerned about religious beliefs you disagree with.

Religion does not have an exclusive mandate on compassion and empathy for the poor. From a pragmatic perspective it is in the best interests of government to reduce the plight of the poor in order to reduce the crime that inevitably follows. That has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with economics. Perhaps if you took off your Jesus-tinted glasses you might have the opportunity to see what the real world actually looks like for a change.

Truth is truth.
Anyone who doesn't take truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either.

Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.
Mahatma Gandhi

In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Pope is correct; capital is to serve not control not destroy.

HUH?

Is your real name Elizabeth Warren?

Religious Right Furious Pope Francis Wants Them To Follow The Bible - Free Wood Post

Many on the religious right are livid that Pope Francis would have the audacity to want people to live up to the actual teachings of the Bible which fully negates their agenda of sweeping the poor under the rug and rewarding the already obscenely wealthy.

“How dare he say trickle-down economics doesn’t work!” said Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX). “The beloved Ronald Reagan, who was far more religious than any Pope said if we keep giving the wealthy more money, everyone will have more money. We just need to wait a little bit longer to see it work!”

lol

Religion does not have an exclusive mandate on protecting the innocent lives of unborn children and protecting marriage either. There are likewise economic ramnifications to those government policies as well.

Maybe if you looked at what you were actually arguing, you'd see you undermined yourself here.

Let me guess, you actually believe Ted Cruz said that, right?

But it only gets even better!

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), devout Catholic, said of the Pontiff, “He is obviously reading from the wrong part of the book. Wealth and greed are beautiful Biblical concepts that go back even further than Jesus.”

“I just don’t diddly understand why therefore and more what this here supposed religious leader-type thingy thinks he’s up to,” said Sarah Palin.

Many in the religious right are denouncing the anti-capitalist remarks of Pope Francis. They don’t want any sort of actual religious facts and teachings to derail their attempt at creating a feudal society

:lmao:

That was a PARODY! Don't you have even a glimmer of a sense of humor?

Your "leap of faith" fell far short of what you were aiming for there. Better luck next time!

Don't worry. I still have faith that one day you will see.

And when you do, we can hang out in the next life.

No thanks, I'll pass.

Regulated communism and unbridled capitalism are the greatest evils that have faced man in the last 150 years. Both seek to take man's legitimate labor and crush his spirit.

Bullseye!

Both extremes are harmful to humanity and should be outlawed.
