Concealed Carrier Holds Airport Burglary Suspect at Gunpoint Until Police Arrive

A concealed carrier in Dallesport, Washington was responsible for capturing a burglar who broke into a small airport near his home.

According to local media:

Investigators said a burglar had smashed out the windows of the airport’s main office and went inside the building.

The caller to 911 reported hearing the glass breaking downstairs, so he had called for a neighbor to come by, as well.

That neighbor, Darren Lacock, responded to the scene and confronted the suspect with a gun, according to deputies.

Lacock held the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Christopher Wirshup, at gunpoint until law enforcement officers arrived.

The suspect was trying to steal candy (a box of peppermint patties to be exact) when Lacock arrived. He was arrested by responding officers.

This incident is the most common type of defensive gun use. That is, one in which no shots were fired and no one was hurt. Despite this being the most common type of defensive gun use, these incidents are often not included in statistics about defensive gun uses. Many of these statistics and studies focus solely on justifiable homicides, which represent only a fraction of total defensive gun uses.

If you have C&R license and the firearm meets the criteria it can be shipped to your home.

CMP also allows firearms to be shipped directly to your home.

If you get a gun repaired and the shop has a FFL then it can go back and forth to the shop and back home.

Those are the only exemptions that I know of.
