I recently claimed that Republican administrations have been much more criminally corrupt over the last 50-plus years than Democrats. I was challenged (dared, actually) to prove it. So I did a bit of research. It didn't take long. When comparing criminal indictments of those serving in the executive branch of presidential administrations, it's so lopsided as to be ridiculous. All I ever hear is how corrupt the Democrats are. So let's compare the presidents and their numbers:
Obama: 8 yrs in office – 0 criminal indictments – 0 convictions – 0 prison sentences. So next time somebody describes the Obama administration as "scandal free" they aren't speaking wishfully, they're simply telling the truth.

Bush #2: 8 yrs in office – 16 criminal indictments – 16 convictions – 9 prison sentences.

Clinton: 8 yrs in office – 2 criminal indictments – 1 conviction – 1 prison sentence. That's right, nearly 8 yrs of investigation, tens of millions spent, 30 yrs of calling them the most corrupt ever, and only one person convicted of a crime.

Bush #1: 4 yrs in office – 1 indictment – 1 conviction – 1 prison sentence.

Reagan: 8 yrs in office – 26 criminal indictments – 16 convictions – 8 prison sentences.

Carter: 4 yrs in office – 1 indictment – 0 convictions – 0 prison sentences.

Ford: 2Β½ yrs in office – 1 indictment – 1 conviction – 1 prison sentence.

Nixon: 6 yrs in office – 76 criminal indictments – 55 convictions – 15 prison sentences.

Johnson: 5 yrs in office – 0 indictments – 0 convictions – 0 prison sentences.

So let’s see where that leaves us. In the last 53 years, Democrats held office for 25 of those years, with a total of 3 executive branch officials indicted, 1 conviction, and 1 prison sentence. That's ONE whole executive branch official convicted of a crime in two and a half decades of Democrat leadership.

In those 53 years, Republicans held office for 28 yrs with a total of β€” a drum roll would be more than appropriate β€” 120 criminal indictments of executive branch officials, 89 criminal convictions, and 34 prison sentences handed down. That's more prison sentences than years in office for Republicans since 1968.

If you want to count articles of impeachment as indictments (they really aren't, but we can count them as an action), both sides get one more. Clinton wasn't found guilty, while Nixon resigned and was pardoned by Ford, so those only serve to make Republicans look worse.

With everything going on with Trump and his people right now, it's a safe bet Republicans are gonna be padding their numbers a bit real soon. So let's just go over the numbers one more time shall we: 120 indictments for Republicans, 89 convictions, and 34 prison sentences. These aren't "feelings" or "alternate facts", they are simply the stats by the numbers. Republicans are, and have been for my entire lifetime, the most criminally corrupt party to hold the office of the presidency.

And what about these convictions?
Executive branch[edit]
Legislative branch[edit]
  • Mel Reynolds (D-IL) was convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography. (1997) He was later convicted of 12 counts of bank fraud. (1999) Reynolds served his entire sentence stemming from the first conviction and served 42 months in prison for the bank fraud conviction at which point his sentence was commuted by President Bill Clinton.[46] As a result, Reynolds was released from prison and served his remaining time in a halfway house.[47][48]
  • Austin Murphy (D-PA) was convicted of one count of voter fraud for filling out absentee ballots for members of a nursing home. (1999) [52]
  • House banking scandal [53] The House of Representatives Bank found that 450 members had overdrawn their checking accounts, but not been penalized. Six were convicted of charges, most only tangentially related to the House Bank itself. Twenty two more of the most prolific over-drafters were singled out by the House Ethics Committee. (1992)
  1. Carl C. Perkins (D-Kentucky) pleaded guilty to a check kiting scheme involving several financial institutions (including the House Bank).[55]
  2. Carroll Hubbard (D-Kentucky) was convicted of illegally funneling money to his wife's 1992 campaign to succeed him in congress.[56]
  3. Mary Rose Oakar (D-Ohio) pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor campaign finance charge not related to the House Bank.[57]
  4. Walter Fauntroy (D-District of Columbia) was convicted of filing false disclosure forms to hide unauthorized income.[58]
  1. Dan Rostenkowski (D-IL) was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in prison, in 1995.[60]
  2. Joe Kolter (D-Pennsylvania) pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy and sentenced to 6 months in prison.(1996)[61][62]

So basically what you're saying is the criminally corrupt left is better at getting away with it than the criminally corrupt right. Got it.

That's right, nearly 8 yrs of investigation, tens of millions spent, 30 yrs of calling them the most corrupt ever, and only one person convicted of a crime." Does that include Clinton's impeachment and being disbarred?
I also notice the Gen. Petraeus was not included under Obama in my friend's list. Probably because he was a life-long soldier, and not a member of Obama's administration.
AND there is a difference between Legislative and executive branches

Bush #2: 8 yrs in office – 16 criminal indictments – 16 convictions – 9 prison sentences.

Clinton: 8 yrs in office – 2 criminal indictments – 1 conviction – 1 prison sentence. That's right, nearly 8 yrs of investigation, tens of millions spent, 30 yrs of calling them the most corrupt ever, and only one person convicted of a crime.

Bush #1: 4 yrs in office – 1 indictment – 1 conviction – 1 prison sentence.

Obama: 8 yrs in office – 0 criminal indictments – 0 convictions – 0 prison sentences. So next time somebody describes the Obama administration as "scandal free" they aren't speaking wishfully, they're simply telling the truth.

Obama oversaw the IRS scandal that showed the IRS going after conservatives. He said he learned about it on the 6 o'clock news like everyone else. Nothing really was done about it other than Obama saying, "Sorry".

Then came Obama going to war with Libya and not consulting Congress according to the War Powers Act. His out was saying it was not really a war, a clear violation of the law. Perhaps that is why the Golden Child received the Nobel Peace Prize.

Then he shoved Obamacare down out throats and then wrote an Executive Order bypassing his own law for his own political advantage. Another clear violation of the law.

Then came news that those in the DNC were paying people to go away and not challenge Congressmen in the primaries, from their own party.

Then came news of Obama trying to influence elections abroad, like in Israel and Africa, the same type of scandal talk going on about Putin interfering in the recent US election, but nothing is ever done about it.

I reckon it is no different than FDR locking up innocent Japanese Americans. If you from the PC party of the Dims, and especially if you are a minority, you are bullet proof it seems.

how about benghazi? hmm, let's see 33,000 emails deleted and phones and servers bleached. no convictions because comey in the back pocket of obummer. hmmmmm what about reality winner, loretta lynch..... obummer plant. Fast and Furious Holden? dude, you want walk down this path and it isn't a good one, cause there is sooooo much out there.

unfortunately i don't give a rat fart in a tornado what you think. every single one of your posts is targeted at people you don't like and twisting up whatever is happening so you can giggle at how *bad* they are whether they are or not.

when you show an iota of understanding that maybe you're wrong on something or don't dog on something with "evidence" a 3rd grader could refute (but you'd still not know why) holler.

This can't be right, the Whitewater investigation yielded 15 convictions on 40 different crimes. Since you got that so bungled up I would really question the rest.
