Having not read the article, I would say the answer is pretty obvious.

Wide open borders that have caused a flood of the third-world that we've never seen before, and now has local leaders of many cities and communities screaming bloody murder.
Out of control 40 year high inflation rate.
Historically high gas prices.
Highest lending rates in 20 years.


Gee, who would have thought this could make a president unpopular.
