Pope drops F-bomb during Vatican blessing | New York Post

Pope Francis may need to go to confession after inadvertently blurting out an Italian F-bomb during his weekly blessing from the Vatican.

“If each one of us does not amass riches only for oneself, but half for the service of others, in this f–k [pause], in this case the providence of God will become visible through this gesture of solidarity,” Francis said to the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square, Italian media reported.

His Holiness meant to use the Italian word for “example,” which is “caso.”

Instead, he used the word “cazzo,” which Italians use as a synonym for the four-letter obscenity.

Pope Francis confessed that he stole the rosary cross of his late confessor from his casket and wears it to this day in a fabric pouch under his cassock.

You do know popes are only infallible on church doctrine, and when they specifically state that the position they take is infallible, right?

Luddly, we have all cursed before and if we have even picked up a pencil from work we're guilty of theft if we don't put it back. It is fact that human beings fail, make mistakes, commit sins and are not infallible.

This is why the doctrine of the Catholic church cannot be true.

The pope is NOT infallible and neither is the Catholic church! Yet the news I'm getting now from a friend who is in meetings with Arch Bishop Gregory, correspondence with Cardinal Dolan and 10 other Catholic Bishops - is the new leader of one world religion has already been chosen. It's this pope and all religions are to be cosolidated and put under his power by the coming One World Govt. You won't have a choice. Interfaithism is only one step towards this unification. The Catholic Church has never veered from calling itself "The Church" and supposedly because the term was used so much ( like international law ) everyone is just going to go along with it.

The message of the Gospel is everyone is fallible including every single denomination of church. Yes! That includes the RCC, folks!

That is why we need a Savior. The message of the Catholic church is everyone is fallible except the Catholic Church and its Pope and therefore everyone must submit to its teaching without questioning it.

At the core of this contraversy is the matter of relationship. Can an individual have a relationship with God without using the Roman Catholic Church as a medium? According to the case of Galileo? No.

According to John O' Brien, Ph.D, LLD, of the University of Notre Dame, he writes in his book, "Inquisition" the following:

As the first of the "Five Basic Facts", O'Brien notes, "The Church is a society, perfect and sovereign, with legislative, judicial, and executive powers, charged with the supreme task of disseminating in all its purity the body of divinely revealed religious truth.

To be clear O'Brien was not referring to the medieval Catholic Church but rather the Catholic church today and its re-emergence as the One True Faith.

As the author of Through the Eye of a Jew - Melvin Fechter - points out in his book - we are only as distant from the Inquisitions as that church is from the power to enforce its belief on others! Why did he say this? Because that is precisely how the RCC accomplished the Inquisitions.

I have many Catholic family members who are quite concerned about the acceptance and integration of some Sharia law into Catholicism -in order to bring unity with the Muslims - a behind the scenes work being approved by such men as Cardinal Dolan and his friend of 20 yrs the leader of the ISNA. Imam Majid whose roots are reportedly in the Muslim Brotherhood. ISNA is the Islamic Society of North America.

When the first news story about the pope came out the reporter said that the people were delighted with the news of the F Bomb and said, This is evidence that the pope is a man of the people.

I beg to differ. This is evidence that the pope is not infallable. Whether by mistake or design - he has finally let the world know what some of us knew all along. Any man can fall. ANY MAN. Why? Because that is all we are. Fallible men and women.

It is and as a Jew, Delta, your own observations are quite invaluable here. How do you feel about the Roman Catholic Church returning to the use of its executive, legislative & judicial branches at the helm of a new world order? In possession of the exact same powers they wielded during Inquisition? Concerns you or no?

I love this Pope. Not a fan of the government or religion he's in charge of, but as a man I dig him.

Catholicism isn't going to be in charge of any new world order, businesses will, and already are. Influence the Vatican wields through it's economic clout will fall under business moreso than religious. If we see a return to the power they had in the 50s say with politicians doing more of whatever is Catholic 'law' it'll be struck down soundly by US law. But because of who this Pope is, and what he practices I don't see that as a possibility happening. If anything he's gonna take the church back closer to its roots than heyday of power and influence.

Vatican City's too small and weak to be a power broker on the world stage except behind the scenes. Can be taken out all at once if they were ever perceived as a threat to the established order vis a vis business. And it's not like Italy's any military threat to prevent it.

And here in Rome people are chuckling that their Pope has shown himself to be the humble person he is. Language not perfect - but winning hearts at a clip resembling that of John XXXIII.

Besides you can tell anyone in Italy go f**k themselves and get only laughs if you smile as you say it.

When the pope exercises infallibility, it is only with regards to doctrine, and to Catholics.

Which is why the Jews have yet to receive an apology from the Vatican for the Inquisition, Marty. It would be admitting infallibility so the doctrines of men have superceded the doctrines of Jesus Christ according to the New Testament - what are those doctrines? Unrepented sin is not remitted. The christian response to harming ones neighor is an admission of guilt, repentance and finally restitution. None of which has been done I might add.

Another misconception is that this doctrine only applies to Catholics. What you have left out of the equation is that according to the RCC they ARE the church. THE CHURCH. That is how they refer to their religious institution. So what am I? Chopped liver? (laugh its good for you )

The bible says the church is the body of Christ - all believers wherever they may be - whether inside the walls of a church or underground at some hidden location as is the meeting places of the persecuted church in China, North Korea, etc. The church is not made up of mortar and stone. We are the church which is why we are called "living stones"...

The body of Christ does not have a legislative, judicial, or executive branch. It is not a governmental body. It is not organized religion.

It is about relationship between man and God. No man or religious organization has any right to dictate how it is done or impose itself as the medium which must be used in order to attain a relationship with God. It was wrong in Galileo's day and it is wrong today.

And did the pope call out infallibility when it came to the inquisition?

Looking it up, thinking I'd heard about them apologising:

"Pope John Paul II made many apologies. During his long reign as Pope, he apologized to Jews, Galileo, women, people convicted by the Inquisition, Muslims killed by the Crusaders and almost everyone who had allegedly suffered at the hands of the Catholic Church over the years."

It wasn't a sign of humility but of fallibility most definitely. It would have been a perfect opportunity for him to admit he is fallible, that the Church which was founded by fallible men is fallible also and can make mistakes. We already know this as he has already made a huge mistake by publicly stating one does not need Jesus Christ to enter heaven. If this were true the need for the church would be over. Turn off the lights, shut the doors and send the billions in gold sitting in the Vatican back to the rightful owners. The poor.

No. The best thing the Catholic Churches of the world can do is go independent and break away from the Vatican. The CC in America should never have been under the control of the European Vatican to begin with. Time to breakaway is now. They have grounds as the doctrine of Christ has been abolished by this man. Whether by design or error he has disqualified himself as one of the representatives of Christ and His Body ( the church )

That is a hard word but truth is what we are after here. Not a kumbaya moment with denial at every turn. This is the challenge of the 21st century catholic churches in my opinion. To stay or to leave. ( go independent )

Not sure it makes any theological sense for a country's Catholic Church to 'break away' from VC/Rome's? Either they'd just ex-communicate you, or you'd by definition become Episcopalian or protestant. So while you could 'break away' you'd cease being Catholic making the break moot.

You are mistaken. For whom did he ask forgiveness? Did he ask forgiveness for the Catholic church which claims infallibility? No. He asked forgiveness for the "individual members of the Roman Catholic Church" deflecting the fault from itself.

On the matter of the RCC calling itself THE Church...... If the RCC is THE Church and the evangelicals and others do not agree with its doctines then can we be considered the church to them? The answer is no. The truth is the RCC is "a church" but not "THE CHURCH". The very claim is a lie. One more evidence of the fallibility which it denies. Thank you for the response, Marty.

Not according to Theresa of Avila you wouldn't be. Her teaching were to stay true to God and do not listen those who live the exterior life. Obey God not man. By all evidence the RCC in Europe leadership has opted out of the interior life therein departing from the true way. ( again )

There would be no problem with the Catholic Church in America breaking away from the vatican. There is precedent. It's the very reason our nation was founded. to break away from the Vatican and religious oppression it brought upon Christians and Jews.

Fast forward to today..... There are independent churches of every denomination who do not answer to the demoninational leaders of their group. Church of God, Assemblies of God, Pentacostals, there are many examples. The Catholics in America can do it. No reason they shouldn't.

When the pope exercises infallibility, it is only with regards to doctrine, and to Catholics.

Actually it is exercising infallability over the entire world of Christians because he insists on speaking for THE CHURCH rather than properly identifying himself as a spokesman for the Roman Catholic Church. Huge difference when you consider that most Christians in the world today are not Catholic.

I love this Pope. Not a fan of the government or religion he's in charge of, but as a man I dig him.

I agree. If anything, I think these incidents add to his value as a leader.

Religion and the ultra-religious take themselves too seriously. He accidentally said "fuck" and stole some beads. Lighten up. Take a chance and crack a smile now and again.

No one is faulting the pope for being fallible. We knew it before he did.

Let's cut to the chase here, Longknife -

You are quite outspoken on the dangers of Islam and its religious - political nature and yet fail to see the correlation between the doctrines of Islam and the RCC. Why is that?

I believe you should read Through the Eye of a Jew Volume II - of the Vatican and The Persecution of the Jews by Melvin A. Fechter. That would be my advice to you. He is a secular Jew and has done his research thoroughly. Thanks for the reply, Delta. - Jeri
