Herbert and Catherine Schaible, faith-healing death of baby | WJLA.com

A Philadelphia couple - serving 10 years' probation for the 2009 death of their toddler after they turned to prayer instead of a doctor - has violated their probation now that another of their children has died.

Judge rebukes Rhawnhurst couple over death of another child
THEY HEARD their son crying through sleepless nights, suffering with diarrhea, and when little Brandon Schaible's parents noticed his labored breathing, authorities said, they prayed over their baby until his final breath last week.

Herbert and Catherine Schaible told a judge in 2011 that they would never choose religion over medicine again after their 2-year-old son, Kent Schaible, died from bacterial pneumonia in 2009.

Christians lie when it suits their purpose.

Herbert and Catherine Schaible Lose 2nd Child After Choosing Prayer Instead of Doctor

This link is not HuffPo so its okay to click one this one.

All of the links say basically the same thing - these scum prayed while their baby died. But, that's okay because, being "good Christians", they didn't abort either this one or the other baby they killed. But, they did kill their babies.

We'll see how powerful prayer is. I will pray that a safe falls out of a 20 story building window and lands squarly on the parents' heads.

Barring that, put them in prison with people who love their children.

Dear Luddly Neddite: That isn't enough, because it doesn't solve the problem with stopping the false teaching that is endangering lives. Imprisoning them will just make them cling to their beliefs more, thinking they are being persecuted for their faith, it does not correct it by teaching them proper spiritual healing in keeping with the core of their beliefs but does not reject science and medicine.

This the thread I started on this news story under "health" because it affects public health.

2nd child of Pa. couple dies after only praying
Here is my comment on the yahoo new article:

False division between science and religion has to stop. People who believe in science do not need to reject spiritual laws; people who believe in spiritual laws do not need to reject science. For all people and the planet to be healthy, we need to respect both spiritual and natural laws to heal the whole person: body, mind and spirit. Truly effective spiritual healing methods are based on FORGIVENESS so the mind/body heal naturally, working WITH science and medicine, not rejecting either one. Medical studies have shown this. Now, once they're in prison(hopefully, that's where they go), we can all look forward to Christians screaming about being persecuted.

So sad that even after the first child died when they refused to take him to a doctor, they still insisted on praying instead of seeking medical care for the second child. I really hope they get out of this religious cult they are in. Same for anyone else in it.

their mistake and that of Christianity is to believe in hopeless pryer rather than their finding the answers themselves as prescribed.

Allowing nature to take its course is not murder. Putting your child's life in the hands of God is not murder, either.

I know atheists believe they have the absolute right to run everyone's life according to their precepts, but they don't.

There are people who want no part of a technological society and choose to live their lives without it. Would you force it on them because you think you have a better way?

It might be better to find out why the child died before ranting about the actions of those parents.
