You are right that Hitler did mention Christianity many times in his writings. He paid Christianity a lot of lip service in Mein Kampf, and he claimed to be a Christian. But Hitler's secretary, Martin Bormann, also declared that "National Socialism [Nazism] and Christianity are irreconcilable" and Hitler didn't squawk too much about it.

Similarly, Hermann Rauschning, a Hitler associate, said, "One is either a Christian or a German. You can't be both."

In addition, Hitler declared Nazism the state religion and the Bible was replaced by Mein Kampf in the schools.

You really want confusion? Randy Alley, one of my best WWII history sources, noted that the SS were supposedly forbidden to believe in God--yet the military's belt buckles said "Gott mit uns" ("God is with us")! See photo, below.

Considering the South is still known for endemic poverty rather than prosperity, I remain unconvinced that the article contains more than a modicum of credibility. Further, the father of the Civil Rights era, MLK was a Black Republican. It would be incredulous to imagine that most Southern Blacks would not follow his political lead. Yet, the preponderancy of evidence on the Internet indicates that was the case and has been since 1936, well before L. B. Johnson became president and "promised them free stuff". One factor that cannot be overlooked is the intense voter suppression and intimidation levied against Blacks by the KKK. Another is the use of tests and poll taxes to thwart any blacks with republican ambitions. Voting for Southern Blacks was severely restricted until 1965 when the Voting RIghts Act of 1965 was passed.

If this graph is accurate, and that is a big "IF," A minority of Northern Black Democrats can be the only explanation for virtually ANY black voting between 1936 and 1965...that is unless some back votes in the South were being manipulated somehow.
