The republican party needs to drop opposition and accept this by 2014

1. Science. We need to support scientific advancement as it made the world around us possible today. Let's support the noaa, nws, nasa, private space programs, economic green renewable energy and research should be funded. We're fallings against the rest of the first world...Reality is dictated by the playing of the rest of the world within a global economy.

2. We need to hand the homosexual issue to the states. Drop the federal defense of marriage. Let the states choose what they want...

3. Support infrastructure...Yes, stop building other countries up and let's start building our nation for once. The republican party should support upgrading our bridges, tunnels and roads...Our energy infrastructure should also be upgraded. We could fight for nuclear and hydro to be the center piece of our nations energy infrastructure. Certainly, we shouldn't be against renewable energy as long as it is economic.

We don't need to oppose the democrats on every issue.

4. Let's be the party of choice within SSI and education!!! Allow people to have the government choice or a private choice. The democrats will want everyone to be limited to the government choice, but we could come out offering choices to the American people. People like choices. Explain that the democrats want to limit you.

5. We should end the war on drugs!!!

I agree with 1-4 definitely. While I am aware the war on drugs is ineffective, I do not believe we need to give up on enforcing the laws on hard drugs. Legalize weed, but nothing else.

I also have one reservation about the choice between private and government healthcare. Is it a totally viable option? I don't know. I am asking. What are the cons?

1. Every conservative I know already supports the sciences. I don't even know where you get that they don't. What they DON"T support is the government doing it.

2. The entire marriage issue is not one for any government. Government has no business in the household of its citizens.

3. Here is where you seem to fail to grasp the situation. Infrastructure is the responsibility of the individual states. If the Federal government did not impose such heavy mandates on the States, draining their resources, infrastructure would not be a problem. This all boils down to priorities. There is ONLY so much revenue that the government can confiscate from the citizens. They, and you, need to learn that and budget accordingly. Stop with the boondoggle spending for votes and maybe there would be enough left to build a bridge or 600...

4.. Again, you seem to think that conservatives are against education. They are not. Do not buy into the notion that the left have the answers on education and how our children should be educated, or on how it should be paid for. Take the issue away from them by pointing out the failures of their public education systems.

Another part of the focus Republicans should accept is a focus towards a government and private partnership for Science, technology, infrastructure and education.

Am I saying big government? No! In fact I believe that we should cut red tape and idiocy throughout the system. This will allow us (Obama's space program ideas, hint, hint) to use the private sector for some of these areas to be a large part of the heavy lifting. This will allow us to cut cost and the scope of the government while increasing our ability to compete.

Matthew, just admit that you are a liberal Democrat who doesn't care for gays.
