The Steele Dossier: How Does it Hold Up?

Paying off corrupt left wingers doesnt mean he is a left winger
But it does mean he's a crony capitalist who found a way to cut out the politicians, and it proves he has no populist intentions regardless of how many lies he tells.

Ex-prosecutor says he believes Trump is 'guilty of numerous felony violations'

"A prosecutor who had been leading a criminal investigation into Donald Trump before quitting last month said in his resignation letter that he believes the former president is 'guilty of numerous felony violations' and he disagreed with the Manhattan district attorney's decision not to seek an indictment.

"In the letter, published Wednesday by The New York Times, Mark Pomerantz told District Attorney Alvin Bragg there was 'evidence sufficient to establish Mr. Trump's guilt beyond a reasonable doubt' of allegations he falsified financial statements to secure loans and burnish his image as a wealthy businessman.'"

wait you really didn’t see that vance didn’t indict trump? like how he fought the case all the way to the SCOTUS to get his taxes then came up with nothing?

The CIA told the FBI that it was fiction paid for indirectly by the Clinton People, before the FBI latched on to it.
Who told you that?

Steele dossier - Wikipedia

"In October 2015, before the official start of the 2016 Republican primary campaign, the founders of Fusion GPS were seeking political work and wrote an email to 'a big conservative donor they knew who disliked Trump, [and] they were hired'.

"He arranged for them to use The Washington Free Beacon, an American conservative political journalism website, for their general opposition research on several Republican presidential candidates, including Trump.[48][49]

"It is primarily funded by Republican donor Paul Singer.[49] The Free Beacon and Singer were 'part of the conservative never-Trump movement'.[50]

"Although Singer was a big supporter of Marco Rubio, Rubio denied any involvement in Fusion GPS's initial research and hiring.[51"

Cy Vance chose to retire and his successor, Alvin Bragg, chose to ignore recommendations to prosecute Trump for tax fraud. That led the the resignation of Mark Pomerantz who believed Trump was guilty of those charges beyond any reasonable doubt.

Published in January of 2017, how much of information made public by Mueller's investigation has buttressed or diminished the essence of Steele's original reporting?

The Steele Dossier: A Retrospective

"The dossier is actually a series of reports—16 in all—that total 35 pages. Written in 2016, the dossier is a collection of raw intelligence. Steele neither evaluated nor synthesized the intelligence.

"He neither made nor rendered bottom-line judgments.

"The dossier is, quite simply and by design, raw reporting, not a finished intelligence product...."

"With that in mind, we thought it would be worthwhile to look back at the dossier and to assess, to the extent possible, how the substance of Steele’s reporting holds up over time.

"In this effort, we considered only information in the public domain from trustworthy and official government sources, including documents released by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office in connection with the criminal cases brought against Paul Manafort, the 12 Russian intelligence officers, the Internet Research Agency trolling operation and associated entities, Michael Cohen, Michael Flynn and George Papadopoulos.

"We also considered the draft statement of offense released by author Jerome Corsi, a memorandum released by House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Ranking Member Adam Schiff related to the Carter Page FISA applications and admissions directly from certain speakers.

"These materials buttress some of Steele’s reporting, both specifically and thematically.

"The dossier holds up well over time, and none of it, to our knowledge, has been disproven."
Yea big deal, the Russians preferred a candidate that didn’t want to start WW3 with them.

Oh the humanity!

Just like how the Chinese would prefer someone that favors giving them more dominance in manufacturing and controlling more of the US’s critical supplies. China likes Dems like Biden. So why aren’t you screaming about Biden’s collusion with China?

hahaha there was no recommendations....there was a grand jury....they reviewed all the evidence, and all the begging from Vance and didn't indict

Try again George...it appears you don't know much about our criminal justice system, or reality

The opposition research and the Dossier are 2 different things.

2 different things - each were anti-Trump.
That is all that they really have in common.

You are 6 years behind.

Got a link for that fantasy?

Trump Is Guilty of ‘Numerous’ Felonies, Prosecutor Who Resigned Says

"Mr. Bragg’s predecessor, Cyrus R. Vance Jr., had decided in his final days in office to move toward an indictment, leaving Mr. Trump just weeks away from likely criminal charges.

"Mr. Bragg’s decision seems, for now at least, to have removed one of the greatest legal threats Mr. Trump has ever faced.

"The resignation letter cast a harsh light on that decision from the perspective of Mr. Pomerantz, who wrote that he believed there was enough evidence to prove Mr. Trump’s guilt 'beyond a reasonable doubt.'

"'No case is perfect,' Mr. Pomerantz wrote. 'Whatever the risks of bringing the case may be, I am convinced that a failure to prosecute will pose much greater risks in terms of public confidence in the fair administration of justice.'"

If Trump colluded with Russia in 2016, he almost certainly made an attempt to monetize the transaction. Only his financial documents from that time will prove if he sought to make a profit by running for POTUS.

"In that sense, the dossier is similar to an FBI 302 form or a DEA 6 form.

"Both of those forms are used by special agents of the FBI and DEA, respectively, to record what they are told by witnesses during investigations.

"The substance of these memoranda can be true or false, but the recording of information is (or should be) accurate."
