DONALD TRUMP’S FIRST TERM IS A WARNING

This week, Republicans have tried to rewrite the four years of Trump’s presidency as a time of unparalleled peace, prosperity and tranquility: “the strongest economy in history,” as Senator Katie Britt of Alabama put it. The difference between Trump and Biden? “President Trump honored the Constitution,” said Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota. Gov. Glenn Youngkin of Virginia offered Mr. Trump’s first term as an example of “common-sense conservative leadership.”

The record of what Mr. Trump actually did in office bears little resemblance to that description. Under his leadership, the country lurched from one crisis to the next, from the migrant families separated at the border to the sudden spike in prices caused by his trade war with China to the reckless mismanagement of the Covid pandemic. And he showed, over and over, how little respect he has for the Constitution and those who take an oath to defend it.

The piece goes on to list the record in chronological order. It begins with Sean Spicer's lies about the inaugural crowd size, which in retrospect seems insignificant compared to the chaos that follows. Like his EO ending funding to sanctuary cities which was subsequently blocked. Then came the Muslim ban (also blocked until it was modified), naming nihilist Steve Bannon to the Security Council, and the abandonment of the decades long US commitment to a two state solution for Palestine. He fired Comey, revealed classified info to Russians in the Oval, and accused all Haitian immigrants of having AIDS.

As impossible as it seems, things got worse from there.

You'll notice that we're fully back in chaos/instability mode, now that Trump has returned to the daily news.

We were given a pleasant, three year respite. That was nice, even if his crimes were the ants at the picnic.

But, evidently we deserve chaos and instability. Back to the middle school playground we go.

Here are some of his worshipers basking in the glory of their orange messiah.

His comments about the defense of Taiwan has rocked the tech sector of the market. Strap in. It's going to be another bumpy ride.

It's madness to want to return to the chaos, incompetence, and corruption of the disastrous Trump years.

If I only had a nickel for every time one of you folks couldn't address the subject matter........................
you'd be able to buy a stick of gum.

we get it, Trump bad, Trump ruined the country, Trump is selling us out to Russia/China/Japan.

If you saw the picture I posted on this thread of the cultists wearing a bandage on one of their ears.......well.........a picture says a thousand words. They don't recall the chaos. They were in a devoted trance.

Democrats need to give up on the fear mongering and nominate a candidate people will actually want to vote for.

Lose the hate. It's killing you.

Lots of you folks call it fear mongering. Actually, it's just remembering the past as it was.
Come up with whatever euphemism you like. But if the only sales pitch you have is how bad the "other guy" is, you'll lose. That tactic has run it's course. Lesser-of-two-evils has hit rock bottom.

The beauty of actually living through it is that you don't need the Times to tell us what happened

You may be right. But why isn't trump's horrific record a consideration for his supporters?

Why weren't they repulsed when he took Putin's side in Helsinki?

Why don't they care about the admin's incompetent response to the hurricane in PR?
