Okay, let's look at that. During a time when a large portion of our population was rightfully upset by yet more acts of police misconduct, some politicians showed solidarity with their LEGITIMATE complaints.
Compared to a guy who gassed and shot rubber bullets at peaceful protestors so he could get a photo op in front of a church he never goes to.
True, and while Im not defending what Trump did, I feel it should be duly noted that the Bible has more relevance with the founding of our country and constitution, than that of any African heritage.
Yeah, and maybe that's the problem. We enslaved people to build this country... our growth economically was from selling Cotton and tobacco to the rest of the world. The reason we don't have a direct connection to their "heritage" is that we whipped it out of them, forced them to convert, and tortured them if they resisted in any way.
Now, for those playing along at home... I come from a German background. My grandfather voluntarily came here, and made a conscious decision to be less German. He stopped calling himself "Ludwig" and started calling himself "Louis". He pronounced our family name differently to sound more American. (I am occasionally amused when I encounter someone who pronounces it the right way). I am the last member of my family who speaks any German, and I'm really bad at it. But this was a choice.
As Malcolm X once said, "We didn't land on Plymouth Rock, Plymouth Rock landed on us!"
When I used to work in kitchens, there were a couple real Africans who absolutely hated American blacks.

It is time to move on, but that doesn’t work for leftist because division and some sort of excuse is needed for them to keep getting elected. Africans from Africa tend to do very well here in the US as do many poor immigrants from other countries. Success in this country really isn’t nearly as much about race or wealth, it is much more about hard work and ambition. This is the antithesis of the Democratic platform unfortunately.

Wow, sounds like she is kind of clueless, then. First, if you are working three jobs, you are doing it wrong. That anyone should have to work two jobs to make ends meet is a sad commentary on where we are at as a society.
But the fact that being non-white (I have to assume she was a particularly dark skinned Indian woman to be called the N-word) still subjects you to abuse no matter how hard you work should say a lot about how we still need to solve the problems of racism in this country.
