There is no catastrophe so ghastly that we will reform our gun laws

good one stupid

because people that want to kill will always find a way?

in socialist norway a couple years ago a guy killed SEVENTY-SEVEN people

and it's harder to get a gun there

libs are obscene losers using a tragedy for political gain

Yup. Guns don't kill people. PEOPLE kill people.

Anyone wanting to kill will get a gun despite all the gun laws currently on the books and there are tons of gun laws on the books.

If you take the guns they will still find guns on the blackmarket, street corners or anywhere else. Someone will always be selling guns to those who want to buy them.

You can blame guns all you want but its the people using the guns who are at fault. A gun is an inanimate object until someone picks it up and uses it.

GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE. PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE.

End of story.

When are right-wing types ever going to use their guns to actually defend freedom? They'll bear arms against law enforcement to protect rich racist criminals, they couldn't give a fuck less about any other part of the Constitution, they absolutely love the US military that they'll be fighting against when the big Fascist Obamacare government comes to take their guns, so when are these right-wing gun owners ever going to defend freedom?

You all talk tough about defending the Constitution while you've known for years now that the US government is collecting information on you in direct violation of the Fourth Amendment. They lied to start a war where they tortured POWs to death. They even went so far as to kill an American teenager who had never been charged with any kind of crime whatsoever. How much more freedom are you right-wing gun owners going to let the big government take before you realize that the militarized police state is not here to protect your freedom?

Do any of you have the balls to go to war against the US military? That's who you'll be fighting when the civil war starts. Politicians, the US military, Federal agents and agencies, and local and state police. Those are your enemies. They are the threat to your freedom that force you to buy guns to defend yourselves. Will you right-wing gun lovers ever prove your manhood? Will you prove that you're a tough Minuteman fighting the Fascist takeover of America by killing cops and US soldiers?

No, you won't, so what are your guns for?

ur a joke

The United States is fucked. The gun problem has gone too far and there is no going back.

We have been given a choice between unfettered access to guns or the worst murder rate in the civilized world

We chose to ignore our murder rate, assasinations and mass killings so we can keep our guns
I think giving local law enforcement the power to block gun sales to individuals known to have serve mental problems would be a move in the right direction. The mental health community doesn't have a problem identifying these people. The problem is getting something done about it. We're often left with nothing more than hoping they take their meds and don't have any guns in the house.

Nope, it has to be a court. What would stop the police from declaring everyone mentally unfit except for themselves?

It could be ten or twenty times that and their position would be the same. It's ideology not common sense. The first they have and the second they lack.

Here's one who really can't do math. See, he says, one person was killed in Japan with a gun so gun control obviously does not work.

Guns don't kill people......People with guns kill people

People with anything including their bare hands kill people. That you liberals have fixated on an item because you believe that item is for killing. Intent is on the user, not the object. That you believe this shows what liberals truly are - violent sociopaths. I view a firearms as an item of protection, that can be used nefarious like any other item.

It's what separates logical people from liberals. Your assignment of intent on the object only shows what you apparently would do with one, or fear you might.

:eusa_shifty:
12,765 murdered with firearms in 2012 and 206 killed with their bare hands (asphyxiation, stragulation, drowning, etc.).

FBI ? Expanded Homicide Data Table 8

8855 murdered by firearms, total murdered is 12,765. learn how to read a table.

PickHisNose thinks that it's "common sense" to jettison the Constitution when the going gets rough. :cuckoo:

Is it just murder by gun that the libbies here wish to make the test case for jettisoning the Constitution?

OR, are there other unfortunate consequences that sometimes flow from the fact that our Constitution specifically enumerates some of our rights?

Like, for instance, that whole "free speech" thing can get pretty messy sometimes. Should we jettison the First Amendment when folks abuse it by saying unpleasant shit?

No, we just write a law that highly modifies it and goes against what it actually says, just like most of the other Amendments, including the one you pray to, the Second.

You're right, gun control doesn't work. Neither did Prohibition, neither has the war on drugs, neither has the prohibition on child porn.

You can't control things, you must control people.

Ah. I see. So, in YOUR view, the Constitution has a JOB to do and it is the JOB of the Constitution to protect citizens?

Let's recap: The Constitution can "cause" difficulties and to the extent it "causes" such difficulties, it should, bit by bit, be closely re-examined and jettisoned when it no longer suits YOUR view of things?

Oh crap, Joe. I forgot to put this id on ignore. Please don't bother responding to me, I won't see your response.

^ not a model of clarity in thinking or in communication.

Laws, PickYourNose, do not "modify" the Constitution. By definition, they cannot.

An Amendment might work.

So, what YOU are now proposing is that we cobble together some AMENDMENT to the Constitution to re-draft the SECOND AMENDMENT to the Constitution?
