There is no catastrophe so ghastly that we will reform our gun laws

If we banned guns we would still have mass shootings and catastrophes.
For a time, while your kind refused to turn in your guns so we had to shoot you instead. Don't worry your pretty little head, that wouldn't last too long.

Go back into your hole, SockJoeBlow.

I'm no sock sweetcheeks. The fact that I'm back should tell you that, if you had any common sense or understanding of the Internet that is...

The gun nuts will walk over the dead bodies, to get to their boxes of bullets. They are hopelessly in love with their deadly replacements for an actual penis.

The Gun grabbers pray for more bloody bodies, hopefully White and Female, so that that they can stack them up and use them as clubs to push their Unconstitutional Agenda.

Prayer isn't required. Just wait a day.

There is no catastrophe so ghastly that America will reform its gun laws - The Week

Look, we've collectively decided, as a country, that the occasional massacre is okay with us. It's the price we're willing to pay for our precious Second Amendment freedoms. We're content to forfeit the lives of a few dozen schoolkids a year as long as we get to keep our guns. The people have spoken, in a cheering civics-class example of democracy in action.

It's hard to imagine what ghastly catastrophe could possibly change America's minds about guns if the little bloody bookbags of Newtown did not. After that atrocity, it seemed as if we would finally enact some obvious, long-overdue half-measures. But perfectly reasonable, moderate legislation expanding background checks and banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines was summarily killed in the Senate for no reason other than that a sufficient number of United States senators are owned by the NRA. It made our official position as a nation nakedly explicit: we don't care about any number of murdered children, no matter how many, or how young. We want our guns.

The United States is fucked. The gun problem has gone too far and there is no going back.

We have been given a choice between unfettered access to guns or the worst murder rate in the civilized world

We chose to ignore our murder rate, assasinations and mass killings so we can keep our guns

anyone can post under two different accounts and hide that fact with some very simple software. The sad part is people who go through all the effort to do it.

Socky Sock Sock Sock.

Its too big of a business. The Lobby is too powerful. Like every massive corporation they want to produce more and more guns every year. There are so many people on the planet. So it's a scam. They flood the black market with guns through loopholes and they end up in criminals hands and people die and police confiscate some guns and they turn them in and melt them down and the gun manufacturers keep on turning out more and more guns.

If they didn't own our government, we could heavily monitor gun sales/distribution and people could still buy as many guns as they want but it'd all be documented. Right now there are online gun sales and gun shows where anyone can buy a gun. We could at least cut down on the number of guns that are flooding the market but we can't because the american people are stupid and they'll believe that the government is coming to take their guns.

I'd be curious to know how many guns are manufactured every year, how many are sold and to whom are they selling those guns to. I bet there are shady dealers in the mix. The gun companies just gotta make a bigger profit every year. How many guns does grandpa need to buy? Doesn't everyone already have 1-5 guns by now? I myself have 2. When will I ever need to buy another one? Never. Who the fuck are they selling all these guns to non stop 24/7 365 days a year? WHO?

What a load. A gun manufacturer does not flood the black market with guns. What kind of world do you live in?

Good, you've heard of a proxy server. Tell me, do you think the Mods are aware of such things?

Americans love our guns...

Nothing can change that

We had JFK, RFK, MLK, Reagan shot and we just sighed and said too bad
We had Columbine, Aurora, Virginia Tech and finally Newton and we did nothing
Our murder rate is triple of that in similar countries...we do nothing

We have our second amendment and are willing to put up with some bloodshed. It is the price of freedom

So, when the going gets tough, the leftwhiner answer is ditch the Constitution?

I think giving local law enforcement the power to block gun sales to individuals known to have serve mental problems would be a move in the right direction. The mental health community doesn't have a problem identifying these people. The problem is getting something done about it. We're often left with nothing more than hoping they take their meds and don't have any guns in the house.

good one stupid

because people that want to kill will always find a way?

in socialist norway a couple years ago a guy killed SEVENTY-SEVEN people

and it's harder to get a gun there

libs are obscene losers using a tragedy for political gain

Yup. Guns don't kill people. PEOPLE kill people.

Anyone wanting to kill will get a gun despite all the gun laws currently on the books and there are tons of gun laws on the books.

If you take the guns they will still find guns on the blackmarket, street corners or anywhere else. Someone will always be selling guns to those who want to buy them.

You can blame guns all you want but its the people using the guns who are at fault. A gun is an inanimate object until someone picks it up and uses it.

GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE. PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE.

End of story.

Guns may kill people, but Progressive governments with guns kill tens of millions of people
