There is NOTHING Trump can do to stop the current economic disaster that is unfolding.

So you’re not going to vote for him again?
Dems don't get it. Trump is getting the same support he got 4 years ago. Best president ever.

Yeah, about that. Pay close attention to the middle box of numbers in swing states. Hell, even Florida is now within the margin.

No lessons missed at all. As I recall the polls were largely on target. It's the media response that you remember talking up a Clinton win.
Here, I dug one up for you.
RealClearPolitics - Election 2016 - General Election: Trump vs. Clinton

Trump won by less than 1% across three states. 46 swing electoral votes. But looking at the actual numbers, appears pretty accurate.

Glad you find it amusing. Expand the table out in the link provided and you can see for yourself. However, in March, 2016, Clinton was still locked in a primary fight with Bernie Sanders. But you can see as the spring wore on, Trump started making some positive appearances on polls. Clinton's numbers went down as election time approached. And things ended up lining right up with the numbers on the polls that were taken in the days before the election.

So when you say, "you want to believe polls at this stage of the game?", I say, yes. Truth is, I don't expect Trump's numbers to change one direction or the other between now and November. He'll be defeated in the same kind of narrow margin he won in 2016.

Next time you vote, just remember that the U.S. may need a leader that can lead through the worst of times. Instead of just twitter trolling through good times.

just remember that the U.S. may need a leader that can lead through the worst of times.

Do you figure Biden or Bernie can do that?

Do you think the virus would have stayed offshore under Obama, or a Clinton presidency?

Nope. You'd still have a virus here. You just would have had people who understand leadership and how government works in power. The response would have been quicker and more effective, without all the campaign bluster, and we'd be way ahead of the virus curve. But that's what you get when you have a wholly unqualified amateur sitting in the highest office in the land.
I'm sensing that the better Trump does handling this virus crisis, the more unhinged Democrats become. They know that the better he does, the smaller their chance of winning at the polls in November. Schumer, their spokesman, can't help himself from making everything about this crisis political. The only problem in doing that is that he is rooting for the virus to beat the American people. I guess with the candidates his party is running, he has no choice but to root for the virus, lowlife, anti American scumbag that he is. It's gonna be Trump vs. a chump no matter how you look at it.

Since Trump could not have done a worse job dealing with this virus, there is no danger that his handling of the crisis will help his re-election chances. But the greater question here is why are YOU more concerned about Trump's re-election chances than you are about the health and welfare of your fellow Americans? Why are YOU still hoping that your hero profits from the harm being done to others.
You were never good at accepting the truth or analyzing political realities but your ability to twist words is even worse

I'm not the one who is "twisting words here", Trumpkin. You're the one trying to turn a national emergency into a political opportunity for Trump. To enhance his re-election chances. Trump seems to care more about the mess it's made of the stock market than the people whose lives are being badly disrupted by this virus.

Trump didn't want his "numbers to look bad". Too late. The chance to do the work so you your numbers don't look bad was during the period when it exploded in China, while Trump was still calling the infection a "hoax" and "another Democratic plot" to take down his presidency. But this would involve actual work, and planning, and giving a shit about the people.

But this isn't something he can lie his way out of or spin to his advantage. This is an honest to goodness moment in history, and Trump will be judged on his success or failure here.

Obama did not declare a national emergency in April, he declared it in October, after 1,000 Americans had died.

I didn’t say he did declare a National Emergency in APRIL 2009, and neither did you. So quit lying, Obama declared a national health emergency when there were 20 cases and no deaths. H1N1 was 35 times less deadly than TrumpO’s Pandemic. TrumpO wasted his first sixty days when he said the US had 15 cases but it would soon be zero because of how great he was. He said that when other parts of the world was piling up infections and deaths. He should have listened to the experts instead of his bullshit happy talk.

Rump has always fueled himself on self-delusion, a sicko psycho game he learnt at the feet of Norman Vincent Peale. That's how he pulls those boners of claiming he never said "Tim Apple", wasn't mocking a reporter's disability, and even transports his own father's birthplace five thousand miles to a whole different continent. Colloquialy put, he buys his own bullshit.

The pity of it is that there exist poor schlubs like SJ who can't see right through that bullshit for what it is.

No amount of policies or executive orders can or will make the industries that drive our economic engine recover.
From airlines to manufacturing. It is all taking a hard hit because of THE VIRUS. Until it runs its course all we can do is try to ride the wave.

It is nice to see politicians focusing on the average Joe for once. Bailing out the little man so to speak rather than simply flooding big business with endless cash (Solyndra, banks & Chevy for example)

Blaming ANY OF THIS on ANY POLITICIAN just shows a severe lack of critical thinking on your part.

There is a set of Politicians I wi blame and it is China own Communist Party!

You can argue until you are blue in the face with me but China Government caused this with their lies and deceit!

Had they been honest in the first moments of the Pandemic with the WHO then maybe we would not have seen the massive melt of the Markets around the World but they were not.

So again I am pointing my crooked little finger at China Government and blaming them and no one else!

First of all, lady, there is no sense in me making this thing political because your last man standing is next to brain dead. My advice to you is be smart, wash your hands and stay home if possible. That's what is important if I have to spell it out for you.

Response to a statement made. I understand your outrage. I thought it might have just been Trump's arrogance and incompetence in denying and brushing aside the seriousness of the virus. But it looks like not only did his administration cut necessary programs and funding that would have helped our preparedness to fight this virus, they also ran simulations and mock exercises showing exactly what may happen in a pandemic like this....and then ignored any and all lessons.

Despite the fascist wishes of some on the right wing, there will be an election held this November. If we don't want to see this type of incompetence and flat out negligence from our government again, it's imperative we not only show Trump the door, but also as many Republicans as possible.
