House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal (D-MA) in a letter that his committee’s request for Trump’s tax returns “lacks a legitimate legislative purpose.”

“Out of respect for the deadlines previously set by the Committee, and consistent with our commitment to a prompt response, I am informing you now that the Department may not lawfully fulfill the Committee’s request,” Mnuchin said, citing legal guidance from the Department of Justice.

“Until such time that I’m not under audit, I would not be inclined to do that,” Trump said.

There is no law requiring a president to release their tax returns, but the Democrats don’t care about laws.

Somehow she missed the release of the Mueller Report weeks ago which allows every American to determine if the AG's summation of The Report's conclusions was inaccurate or misleading.

Despite the Muel Team's herculean efforts to mollify the still bitter Clintonettes among us, it seems she - like so many here - just can't come to grips with the meaning and significance of "the report does not conclude that the President committed a crime."

We can't charge or convict any American - even a Trump - with crimes he or she did not commit and not a single Trump was indicted … not one. I wonder if that prosecutor can find the meaning and significance of that?

Seriously, could you have a single clue about the actual law... I suggest for this one look at the Teapot Dome Scandal and the aftermath... Congress or Senate can ask for anyones tax returns without the need for a reason... Bu they did give one here... They want to investigate if the IRS are subjecting Trump to the same standards as everyone else... Remember Trump brought this upon himself by saying his is always under Audit...
