Another thing about walls and barriers; there is an inverse relationship between how many people youhave to have monitoring a barrier and how much development you put into the barrier.

A simple double concertina wire barrier on tall cyclone fences is enough to stop illegal immigration, but it would require several 4 man patrols about every three miles of barrier.

A 30' stone wall topped with an observation tower every five miles and concertina wire with a cyclone and concertina wire fence as a preceding obstacle and well equipped with motion sensors, video cameras and drones at use for the personnel would require only one 4 man patrol per 10 miles of barrier with two men in the towers.
