I realize the left doesn't know this - but corporations have something called "strategic planning". They take the information available to them today (who has been elected, what tax rates are and are likely to be, what their competitors are doing, etc.) and they use it to plan for tomorrow so they can position themselves for success. Corporations started contracting (in essence - "bracing for impact") as soon as the election results were in.
