The 1790 Naturalization Act was repealed by the Naturalization Act of 1795, the Naturalization Act of 1798, the Naturalization Law of 1802, the Fourteenth Amendment to the US Constitution in 1868, the Naturalization Act of 1870, the 1898 Supreme Court decision in US v. Wong Kim Ark, the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924, the 1940 ratification of citizenship to races indigenous to the Western Hemisphere, and the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952.

Or, do you not recognize the laws, Constitutional Amendments, and just plain wishes of the American citizenry? Do you really think this country should ignore the wishes of the founders to institute a Republic where the citizens have a voice that is moderated by State powers, the judicial oversight on the violation of minority rights, and the descretion of the executive branch to enforce our laws? And I think you are incorrect.

They are not going to snub the majority if their base because they 'aren't their guy.' If Cruz gets close to or beats Trump in electors then I see Cruz getting it. If he does not then Trump will be the nominee. If the GOP goes outside of those candidates I don't think it will last - the entire party may cease to exist as a major player.
