First, we have to agree on what's broken about it.
You think? As a hypothetical, if someone came up with a plan that would reduce health care prices by 20% across the board, do you think that would satisfy the "Medicare for All" folks? Because I don't think it would. I think what bothers them isn't that health care is too expensive. What bothers them is that health care costs money at all. They think it should be "free".
I see two distinct, and in some ways contradictory, problems related to health care. First, is that the market is distorted in a number of ways that are driving health care inflation, making it so expensive that the average person can't afford basic health care. Second, is the social problem of what do about people who can't afford health care.
Obviously, the first problem feeds the second. If we can get the market back in check, there will be fewer people who can't afford health care and helping them will be easier.
