Trump releases seven-point health care reform plan

I like the plan and would give it a higher chance of passage based on it coming from a Republican rather than the same plan proposed by a Democrat. (We Republicans like to bitch a lot if it isn't ours. Democrats are a wee bit more compromising, but their whining! My gosh!)

Like all Republican health proposals I have seen, this one does nothing to provide comprehensive healthcare

How will Trump replace the exchanges once he repeals Obamacare?
Its not governments job to provide anything but the safety and security of its citizens.

It is if we the people tell them to do it

Wrong. It's still not the government's job to provide anything but the safety and security of its citizens.

If We the People say it is their job.....it is their job

That type of thinking can be the undoing of the constitution.

Rightwinger despises the Constitution.

Yep, why the fuck vote for a government if a bunch of unelected corporate assholes can do what ever the fuck they feel like to people and rule over us anyways.

The modern loserterian movement is anti-democratic.

And you don't know anything about it. The federal government has the supremacy cause that allows it to govern and do the well of the people.

This is not the thread for a constitutional debate, I am not a constitutional scholar and clearly either are you.

How does that prove rightwinger doesn't despise the Constitution?

What I really like is the emphasis on expanded Health Savings Accounts, and the shift in tax deductibility to individuals. Another excellent proposal is price transparency.

Congress must act. Our elected representatives in the House and Senate must:

1. Completely repeal Obamacare. Our elected representatives must eliminate the individual mandate. No person should be required to buy insurance unless he or she wants to.

2. Modify existing law that inhibits the sale of health insurance across state lines. As long as the plan purchased complies with state requirements, any vendor ought to be able to offer insurance in any state. By allowing full competition in this market, insurance costs will go down and consumer satisfaction will go up.

3. Allow individuals to fully deduct health insurance premium payments from their tax returns under the current tax system. Businesses are allowed to take these deductions so why wouldn’t Congress allow individuals the same exemptions? As we allow the free market to provide insurance coverage opportunities to companies and individuals, we must also make sure that no one slips through the cracks simply because they cannot afford insurance. We must review basic options for Medicaid and work with states to ensure that those who want healthcare coverage can have it.

4. Allow individuals to use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Contributions into HSAs should be tax-free and should be allowed to accumulate. These accounts would become part of the estate of the individual and could be passed on to heirs without fear of any death penalty. These plans should be particularly attractive to young people who are healthy and can afford high-deductible insurance plans. These funds can be used by any member of a family without penalty. The flexibility and security provided by HSAs will be of great benefit to all who participate.

5. Require price transparency from all healthcare providers, especially doctors and healthcare organizations like clinics and hospitals. Individuals should be able to shop to find the best prices for procedures, exams or any other medical-related procedure.

6. Block-grant Medicaid to the states. Nearly every state already offers benefits beyond what is required in the current Medicaid structure. The state governments know their people best and can manage the administration of Medicaid far better without federal overhead. States will have the incentives to seek out and eliminate fraud, waste and abuse to preserve our precious resources.

7. Remove barriers to entry into free markets for drug providers that offer safe, reliable and cheaper products. Congress will need the courage to step away from the special interests and do what is right for America. Though the pharmaceutical industry is in the private sector, drug companies provide a public service. Allowing consumers access to imported, safe and dependable drugs from overseas will bring more options to consumers.

None of those except repealing the individual mandate require the repeal of Obamacare

Why don't Republicans work to get those ideas included in obamacare?

.

Because obamacare is stupid. And the above ideas are to fix healthcare...obamacare is meant to destroy the system, forcing us to then go to single payer...which will suck even more.
Trumps ideas are nice to have and can be done in addition to Obamacare.
What Trump avoids is explaining how he replaces healthcare exchanges and how he covers those with pre-existing conditions. That was the difficult part with Obamacare

WTF! cereal_killer ,

I decided to take a look online for more info on this plan and I discovered that he released it on MARCH 3rd. It's not new at all.

Why haven't we heard him talking about it every day since then? He never mentions it. Weird, huh?

Why did you post it like it was breaking news? Weird, dude.
It is breaking news to the Libtards....lying sonsabitches...

Why don't Republicans work to get those ideas included in obamacare?

.

I can think of one really good reason- the regulations for Obamacare is over 33,000 pages, virtually no person can possibly understand the entire document. I find it doubtful that you can say with any degree of certainty that the list of changes don't conflict with the regulations, since I doubt you have read or understand the regulations. It's too long, and too cumbersome, and you suggest adding more to it. That makes no sense to me.
What is the proper length for a national healthcare system? A postcard?

Republicans went through those 33,000 pages and found a single sentence that they found ambiguous. They took it all the way to the Supreme Court.......lost of course

I don't believe there is any length that is proper for a national healthcare bill. It should be left to the States to deal with things like healthcare and education. Why not let each state develop their own system. Some will be good, some probably not so good, but with 50 states working on a system, we essentially will have 50 different examples to see what works and doesn't work. And you won't have Washington bureaucracy as an overhead tax.

I realize that won't happen, so I would prefer as small of a bill as possible.
You don't understand Obamacare then

It was left to the states to implement. Some did a good job, red states, as usual did a shitty job

The constitution enumerates governments limited duties. You hate it and libs hate it. The founders knew how fouled up govt was.
Founders knew that future generations would have needs they couldn't dare anticipate

Yeah right.... like constant sucking off the tit. If the founders would have known we would have become this pussified and dependent on the govt they would have said screw it and surrendered to cornwallis.

18th century aristocrats had no perceptions of what a 21st century society would be like
