trump says he has a "40 point" lead...which of course is another one of his lies. He will be indicted, at least one more time before the end of the year. He will also be found guilty in the slander/rape case that is now ongoing. And he wants to skip the debates. I say he should. That shows how dedicated to the party and the country he is. trump cares about trump.....end of story.

if there is a serious challenger that challenges Trump to a debate he will show up ... its not in his dna to not confront challengers ... the real question is will Biden debate anyone be it dem challenger or the republican nominee ?

He beat Trump in all three dabates in 2020 and then beat him in November. You worry about trump juggling court dates with rallies.

I'm not so sure it's a terrible idea. He's Trump. He's a universal embarrassment but he's a dependable embarrassment in terms of the only things he can say that will get headlines now are more insults, more boorish behavior, more threats, more innuendo, etc... There is no policy behind any of it; there was no policy in his administration. Why get onto a stage and get asked about his four years of failure?

As a liberal, I see it as a massive win for the Democrats. It pretty much ensures that Trump's numbers stay where they are absent of any unforced errors that he makes on his own--and he could do that of course. But for the Democrats, he's not going to be able to get any sway from the soft Biden supporters because whatever he's up to won't be on ABC World News Tonight, the CBS Evening News, or the NBC Nightly News. CNN--whatever their evening news cast is isn't going to cover his social media rants either unless they are salacious.

And the GOP has already said that they are not participating in debates in the General Election season. Trump is only effective when he has a megaphone and an attentive audience. He has neither.
