Trump's team to raise millions for Jan. 20 events

"Trump, who vowed during the campaign to "drain the swamp" of special interests corrupting Washington, has set $1 million donation limits for corporations and no limits for individual donors, according to an official on the Presidential Inaugural Committee with direct knowledge of tentative fundraising plans."

"At the same time, Trump's inaugural committee will not accept money from registered lobbyists, in line with his ban on hiring lobbyists for his nascent administration."

"Barack Obama set stricter limits on donations for his first inauguration, in 2009, holding individual donors to $50,000 each and taking no money from corporations or labor unions, as well as none from lobbyists and some other groups."

So, Trump is really out on the sell here. Obama had limits of $50,000 for individuals and nothing from corporations, lobbyists and unions, but Trump who claimed to want to clean up politics is taking from almost anyone, and large sums. You'd think the guy could pay for this himself, but no, he's selling out.

He is already pocketing millions. That started when he got Pooting's money.

Way back, I said the only reasons he wanted to be prez is his enormous ego and money. He is no where near as wealthy as he wants us to believe he is and being crowned king will increase the value of his "brand" - which he has utterly trashed through lying, cheating and stealing.

Link, Dudley Luddite?

The butthurt battalion is going to be whining for the next 8 years I would guess, assuming The Donald wants a second term. :p

Funny when you think about it. All of that nasty about Trump and he's still a far better choice than Hillary. That's what happens America, when the only thing you offer your population is the choice between "the less of two evils." You can sink ever deeper into the pit of blackness with your principles of governing, and the people will eat it up, thinking they've achieve some measure of victory!

He should use the money he raises to offset cost to taxpayers of security in NY. Pay your own costs first, isn't that a fair business practice?

Fair business practices might not be buying politicians, he did that, receiving nearly a billion from govts, he got that, paying no federal tax, potentially he did that. I don't think Trump's into fair...
