Can't fix immigration as long as the republican party needs fear of illegals for it's very lifeblood. Democrats would be happy to start debates on comprehensive immigration reform immediately but the republicans cannot even discuss it without sounding like horrible heartless people. They are trapped by the rhetoric they must use to get your vote.

Well, if you read the article it says he is attempting to work with the Democrats. Lets see if they have the ability to do something constructive and or attempt to work with others towards a solution in a non partisan way. I kind of doubt they are really capable of that however

Trump already blew their cover when he gave them everything they would have gladly taken under Oboingo, viz. DACA....They've demonstrated time and again that they're not willing to work with anyone on the issue, unless the get 110% of what they're demanding.

There's something else going on here...Calling off the attack on Iran was wise, this makes him look like a waffle boy.

First of all, reloading on this deportation two weeks down the road is probably a good thing, if next time They dont tip them off first on what day ICE raids are going to begin. Next time around they need to just do it without warning, but secondly, these people have been living here already for a long time. A few more weeks isnt going to make much difference so If Trump can use this as leverage somehow to gain funding for the border agents or whatever it would be worth holding off. Provided these people tagged for deportation are not being deported for violent crimes.
I do understand though, its very hard to trust Democrats, they want nothing less than full amnesty for everyone but they cant come out and say it because they still have too many American citizens who still vote for them.

Trump delays planned ICE raids to see if Congress can solve border crisis

President Trump announced Saturday that a planned mass roundup of illegal immigrants by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is being delayed for two weeks, in the hope that a bipartisan solution to the border crisis can be reached.

“At the request of Democrats, I have delayed the Illegal Immigration Removal Process (Deportation) for two weeks to see if the Democrats and Republicans can get together and work out a solution to the Asylum and Loophole problems at the Southern Border,” he tweeted.
