Cruz: GOP establishment is picking Trump

Donors changing tune on Trump

Here's what, imo, is the fascinating thing about this guy. He started out last summer as the guy who could fix things. Not beholden to insiders, he could fix stuff. And, that actually made/makes a lot of sense. The deficits and immigration are not huge bugaboos that have no foreseeable solutions. Actually, each side makes minor concessions and both get end results that give them most of what they want. But, we have a two party system in which each party stakes out it's claim to power by demonizing the other, and the reason for that is a guy like Harry Reid wants to be the leader instead of a guy like Mitch McConnell. OR Jeb v. Hillary.

As Bazyk says in the second link, demonizing any ethnic group is not acceptable, and insults are juvenile.

And, actually counterproductive if you're actually trying to get a deal. But, if Trump is really doing a crude Nixonian nod to the very right and very angry, and in reality is as much a pragmatist as Nixon (or even Reagan) .... then the real question for the GOP, imo, is whether Trump can somehow get the numbers of latinos and women he needs to be serious.

It almost seems Hillary is the only candidate bad enough to give the Big Quack a chance, and he's the only one bad enough to give her a chance. And, both seem sort of inevitable.
