Turn your neighbor in to Obama

That's what I thought Kitty. You haven't even lived long enough, much less do you have a firm enough grasp of history to support this tired cry of "the government doesn't listen anymore."

As lost as you may feel, that only serves to demonstrate where YOU ARE in the scheme of things. The direction of the country, especially on big issues like health care, is determined by the people. Health care was one of the top issues, as VOICED BY THE PEOPLE, in the last election. The government did not dream up the health care issue. They responded to public demand. The fact that 45% oppose it is pretty much just tough shit. It's always tough shit for 45% of the people on most issues. That's democracy for you. Take it or leave it.

Waiting for deletion (another thread already made)

The entire matter simply reeks of BROWN SHIRT FASCISM. If you see someone attempting to disrupt our force fed legislation...just drop a dime, we will handle it. Right out in the open....mandating a LIST of those that show discourse of not towing the socialist line. What do you suppose would have happened if the last administration would have issued such an order from the white house? Front Page headlines in the NY TIMES, "BUSH DEMONSTRATES HATRED OF FREE SPEECH".....the neo nazi's are at it again.

That's why the 45% who supported Gore/Kerry stayed silent from 2001-2008, right? They never regained power, did they?

The Government only listens to the people as much as they need to in order to remain in power. This is why is it IMPERATIVE to limit government power, not centralize it as Bush has done and Obama is doing.

We're beginning to see the fruits of our 80-year plunge into authoritarianism, in Bush and now even more so in Obama. No matter which party was in power, the Executive branch has done nothing but strengthen itself from the time of FDR.

As a so-called student of history, this should be glaringly obvious to you...

I credit Abe Lincoln, as do most US Historians with the advent of modern Federal power. Wouldn't you agree?

I blame Andrew Jackson, founder of the Democrat Party, for ignoring Supreme Court ruling in order to commit genocide against the Cherokee people.

Lincoln followed in his footsteps.

As did FDR.

As did LBJ.

As did Nixon.

As did Reagan.

As did Bush.

As does Obama.

I agree that Jackson's treatment of the Cherokee was despicable. The trail of tears not soon forgotten. I blame Alexander Hamilton for his scheming and manipulation, and lies, that corrupted the constitution, we've been arguing over ever since. From the Alien and Sedition Acts, from his reversal on enumerated powers, his only interest was the Imperial Empire of his dreams. Madison and Jefferson were never more right than in opposing him.

I guess under USC 552 this request by Obama is illegal.

Its a "rumor" I heard i'm reading up on US code 552 now trying to find where it says that.

According to 5 U.S.C. § 552a, United States agencies, including the Executive Office of the President shall, “maintain no record describing how any individual exercises rights guaranteed by the First Amendment unless expressly authorized by statute or by the individual about whom the record is maintained or unless pertinent to and within the scope of an authorized law enforcement activity.

Does this help ya?

US CODE: Title 5,552a. Records maintained on individuals

Fallacy number 1: Personal attack. Please leave your personal opinion of my comprehension skills out of it. Such commentary is at least irrelevant if not also erroneous.

Fallacy number 2: Mind reading. Just because I did not include the fact that information from web sites is also requested does not mean that I did not comprehend that information from web sites is requested too. I also didn’t mention that John Cornyn sent a letter to the Whitehouse. Wow! Perhaps I should have paraphrased every little thing in the article just to prove to you my comprehension skills.

Instead of being so presumptuous and offensive, couldn't you have simply asked me whether or not I read the part about the Whitehouse wanting web site information and whether or not it concerned me? My reply would have been that I read and understood the whole article, and that such a request does not concern me. In fact, I think that the Whitehouse could have also requested newspaper clippings questioning healthcare policy proposals. (Yes, I know that newspaper clippings were not mentioned in the article.)

Okay. Fair enough. Thank you for the US Code. I was not aware of it. Therefore, this proposal may need to be more carefully examined and addressed or stopped with respect to 5 U.S.C. § 552a and/or 5 U.S.C. § 552a may be examined and addressed or repealed if the Whitehouse wants to continue the project.

awww wittle nancy boy got his feeling hurt!!

If you had read the whole thing in the first place then your dumbass would have seen the parts I conveniently highlighted and you wouldn't have looked like the idiot you pretend not to be.

Again, you resort to mind reading. 1) My feelings are not hurt. 2) I did read the whole thing. I read and comprehended the entire article long before you created the post highlighting different parts of the article. I did not feel the need to comment on each sentence. Sheesh.

Hey! In one of your posts, you posted a link to the article, “Biased PolitiFact.com Covers for ACORN, Attacks Michele Bachmann”. Biased PolitiFact.com Covers for ACORN, Attacks Michele Bachmann | NewsBusters.org

Yet, you did not paraphrase any parts of the article. Did you read the article? Wait. That is not what I meant to ask. Where are your comprehension skills? One sentence in the article says, “Reporter Robert Farley sets the tone for the piece in his first paragraph, writing that "Bachmann's latest outrage focuses on an old nemesis: ACORN." What poor comprehension you have!

Lonestar_logic......hmmmm....logic...LOL ROTFL - What a misnomer! Go back to high school and take some actual courses in logic.

Read your Mind? Hell you put it out there for everyone to see nancy. And quite honestly you're not as smart as you pretend.

I see your kind everyday.. all hat but no cattle.

Tell you what, why don't you try changing the subject to get you off the hook for your inability to fucking read!?!? Oh wait... that's what you're doing now! Silly me.

Yea I read the article. And it supported the argument I was making very well.

You have to do better than that Nancy, your insults are weak and about twenty years old.

Stupid ass. The request is for the rumors, specifically not for names. But you lying hypocrites will continue to spew you lies.

Imbecile.

Big brother is building a data base of dissenters, and like the idiot you are you have no problem with it.

Like I said elsewhere, you are in microcosim everything that is wrong with American politics.

There is no more certain indication that they are losing an argument than the neg reps from this fool, Old Rocks, and his ilk, and I quote his neg rep: "That's a lie and you know it."

This lock-step moron will line up behind B. Hussein Obama (Peace Be On Him) no matter how thuggish, and blatantly anti-American he and his minions behave.

It is more important to this mental midget to be a running-dog of the administrtion than to stand up for American principles.

Judge Andrew Napolitano, who wrote "Constitutional Chaos: What Happens When the Government Breaks its Own Laws," compared the White House request for Americans to turn in others who disagree with administration policies, to President Nixon's attempts to have government officials go to protest marches and take pictures of protestors.

As pointed out by Napolitano, the purpose of the First Amendment is to encourage speech, and the White House demand that discordant messages be forwarded to them does exactly the opposite: it sends, and is intended to send, a chill through the opposition.

Claiming that they can't see this, that they can't 'connect the dots' is both disingenuous an ignorant.

And those with such views are more in accord with totalitarian regimes than American.

It would be impossible, at less than book length, to plumb the depths of intellectual confusion and moral cowardice to which Old Rocks has plunged….he remains an object of execration by all the people who think the right thoughts.

Kitty, the agendas of the left and right have an enormous impact on the direction of the country. To claim otherwise is just plain silly.

:doubt: You just don't get it. The only reason our country is falling apart is because the government no longer listens to us, the people, they don't even care about Democrat or Republican, if you think they do you haven't been paying attention.

Bullshit.

The country falling apart? When do you suppose this will happen? You chicken little types have been crying that bullshit for a couple hundred years now.

The government listens to the people more now than it ever has. Especially on a Federal level.

Tell you what, why don't you demonstrate for us way back when the government listened to the people more than it does now.

Was it when women couldn't vote? Did the government listen more then?

Was it when blacks couldn't vote? Did the government listen more then?

Was it before radio, TV, the internet? Did they listen more then?

People PROSTESTED in all of those scenarios and gave the government no choice, the elected officials got nervous about their future employment. You're the one in this thread bashing on people who are protesting b/c you don't agree with them. You're a typical leftist hypocrit.

No. You may have read the article but you certainly didn't comprehend the article. Otherwise, why did I have to quote some of it for you? Don't you get it? It is the same ill logic you tried to play on me.
