What people are calling for is that social media companies try to prevent fake information from reaching the public. It would be very easy for fake social media posts to cause a business to fail. These tweets that caused the run on the bank should be examined to determine whether the tweets were accurate. If they were not then criminal charges should be filed. Another question is why they didn't go to the authorities first.
