CDZ Two options...the European model of self defense, and the American model of Self defensse.

Actually, no, they don't, since they don't know what that means......universal background checks require gun registration.....something the polls never tell the people who respond to the polls.....and since gun registration around the world and in various states leads to gun banning and confiscation, they would not support universal background checks if they knew what you guys really wanted.
Got it. You, and a select few other gun fetishists claim to be privy to a top secret plan to require gun registration that other gun owners just don't know about. That's pretty deep into conspiracy theory territory, isn't it?

An online, self included survey with no effort to verify claims is not a scientific study, dumb ass. If you aren't smart enough to know the difference, I'm not going to bother trying to explain it to you. There is no way to even imagine how much gun nuts exaggerate the use of their guns. Fantasies of saving the day by gun nuts on a self included survey are not the same as verified events.

Not an online survey …..decades Of studies, most done by anti-gunners and they all find massive numbers of defensive gun use. You have to lie about the research because it shows you dont know what you are talking about

You have to lie……guns were registered in other countries, and those registration lists were used to confiscate guns, Europe did this, then murdered 15 million people…. Australia is just the latest country to confiscate guns with the help of gun registration.

We know history and human nature, you do not.

LOL several of the studies were conducted for the express purpose of disproving usage and did just the opposite. Claiming all the studies are online or bogus is a hoot indeed.

In that case, you should list an actual study. All the sources you listed were either surveys, or the study of differences between surveys. Every gun usage listed or referenced in your post #858 was from one or many surveys. Again, a survey is not a study.

Well if Australia did it, you know we will have to. Here are a few other actual laws in Australia that, according to you, we should worry about being enacted here.
  • It is illegal to wear hot pink hot pants after midday on a Sunday.
  • It's an offence to possess 50kgs of potatoes in Western Australia.
  • Taxi cabs in Queensland are required to carry a bale of hay in the trunk.
  • Bars are required to stable, water and feed the horses of their patrons.

Please link those studies. All that have been posted here were surveys.

This article talks about at least 2 STUDIES and at least one is listed by the list you poo pooed.
You should examine your links a little more thoroughly. The 5 year DOJ report did use documented cases to evaluate murders, but non fatal interactions were gleaned from a survey. A self included survey. In other words. any gun nut was free at any time to report his most recent fantasy of holding off an entire gang of thugs, and there was no effort to verify any of those claims. We both know lots of people who tell stories like that, don't we? Since all the reports that the previous poster, as well as the first of the ones you mentioned were only surveys and not studies, I didn't see any need in bothering with any more.

Yeah, actually, it is......it was research, using actual research techniques by trained researchers from both the government, the CDC and the Department of Justice, and private research groups.....

You can lie all you want, but these studies show you don't know what you are talking about.

And you lie....you are intentionally pretending that the 18 studies on defensive gun use do not exist........because none of them support what you say or believe.

Then you have the actual research by Lott where he looked at the crime statistics from every county in the United States before and after they passed concealed carry laws....which showed, 1) concealed carry laws do not increase gun crime, and 2) concealed carry laws often help reduce violent crime.....

Yes...you are playing a game......this is the CDZ, game playing is outside the rules.

Research comparing the results of opt in surveys. Your links themselves said that. Obviously you don't understand that results from an opt-in survey are not the same as a study where facts are verified, and it's not my job to convince you of that reality. Your mind is made up, and facts just confuse you.

Make up your mind. Till now, we have been discussing your unverified claim of how often guns are used to prevent crime. Now you want to move the goal post to increase or decrease in gun crime. Those are separate subjects. Decide what you want to discuss, and then get back with me.

No. You claimed something that happened in Australia had to happen here. I just pointed out how silly that belief is.

No...research by trained researchers...you can lie about this all you want, but these are professional researchers trained to find out information..using professional research methods....

Tell us that the CDC and the DOJ don't know how to do research..please...tell us.....then tell us that the other 16 studies by government and private sector financed researchers also don't know what they are doing.....

Not just Australia, Europe, Canada, and several states here........sorry, you can pretend all day long..but gun registration leads to gun confiscation which is why you want universal background checks so much...you need to know who owns the guns before you ban them, otherwise people will hide them...

I'm sure they know exactly what they are doing. That's why they disclosed that they were analyzing surveys. That is plainly stated in the links you posted.

You are certainly free to believe any conspiracy theory you choose, no matter how goofy and wrong it is.

That progressives mean to ban and confiscate guns, and that they mean to facilitate this by passing registration first, is neither wrong nor a conspiracy theory.

So, no more gun registration beyond our existing Form 4473s. And that's a final decision.
