Just seen this in the news this morning Friday 7 April -

What photo ID do you need to vote in UK elections?

People in England will need to show photo ID before being allowed to vote at the local elections on 4 May.
The government said the new law will help prevent voter fraud but critics claim the changes will make it harder for some to vote.

What are the new voter ID rules?

Voters need to take photo ID to get their ballot paper in polling stations at local elections, police and crime commissioner elections, and parliamentary by-elections.
From October it will also apply to any general elections that are held in the future.
You don't need to show ID if voting by post

So we now need to take photo ID along to vote. No problem, driving licence is always in my pocket anyhow.

It's SUPPOSED to make it harder for people to vote. The ones who aren't supposed to be voting (illegal aliens). In fact, hopefully it will make it impossible for them to vote.

Although it sounds like all they have to do is vote by mail, and then they donlt have to show any ID. And does this law require CITIZENSHIP ID. If not, illegals could still vote. By mail or in person.

If memory serves, you needed to supply your National Insurance number etc.. when you registered to vote, an illegal wouldn't be able to supply such information.

Doesn't make voting hard whatsoever. The only difference now is, take ID. Not rocket science, or, do you think it will exclude the utter dimwits in society that would struggle taking ID?

To use an airport, they need passport ID. To open a bank account, you need ID. To apply for a car test, you need ID. The list is endless, why do some struggle with the idea of voting with ID?

The Tories are more like the Far-right expect they are voted in , they are making money out of the cost of living crisis, power, food, living in the UK is tough and if you're poor the Tories don't give an F

Does England also have people who vote multiple times like the Democrats in America?
The Democrats fight Voter ID laws because they are cheaters.

You wouldn't be poor if you worked.

It's not just the poor who are having issues, even the workers & middle class are finding it hard to pay their bills, if you lived in the UK you would know what I mean. Food, power, gas, tax, childcare some people work full time jobs and are needing to use food Banks, or they wouldn't be able to eat at all it's because of Brexit as well,

I think it's down to the education system. Life skills and common sense are being lost to irrelevant shit like transgender, religion etc..

Brexit has nothing to do with it. An important word is called "Responsibility". So to buy and own a house, you have to be responsible. If you have children, you have to be responsible. The more Left you are, the more you believe your government should pay for those responsibilities.

The interest rate in the UK hit 17% in the 70's. If someone was responsible when buying a house, they would only get a level of mortgage that they could afford if the rates increased to 17%.

If a couple wanted a child or children, they would only do so if they built in the factor of future childcare costs.

Most people these days live to their means, those that are not whinging about interest rates, childcare costs, inflation, and food banks are those that save for a rainy day.

Agter the windrush scandal people from minorities ae less likely to register.
Show me your papers
Its a nazi/tory trait. Denying people the right to vote.
