And thus the issue...people are human and even the best news organizations will get it wrong, sometimes. The public has been sold this bill of goods..that any error totally devalues the whole--logically insupportable..and yet, people are buying it in droves. It's like the oft-repeated fact that the polls got the election wrong..thus all polls are inaccurate. All things human have a modicum of error built in..and most adults know this. If perfection is the only standard that is acceptable..than all fall short--it is this that the spin doctors count on when they attempt to sway public opinion. Throw in the fact that many WANT to be lied too...or at least, have their view affirmed by the media...and it becomes very difficult to sort wheat from chaff. Here’s a novel idea, why don’t they tell the news for a change, and not make up so much that isn’t true.
It’s not Trumps fault the media doesn’t make sure their stories are true, they just print hear say and then retract it on a back page if it’s not true, and most people don’t even see the retraction do they.

Skewed left wing logic? Fake news is good because people are flocking to the NY Times and the Post since Trump was elected. Flocking is kind of an odd word to use but it fits into the fake news agenda because it's relatively meaningless.
An interesting and thorough study by a leading Ivy League institution, shows the unintended and unexpected consequence of right wingers' (including Trump) moronic mantra of calling anything that they don't like, "fake news" ......Or the inane label that the orange clown gave mainstream media, calling it the "enemy of the people" when such outlets criticized his very thin skin.
A report, published by the Columbia Journalism Review, does an excellent job of laying out the challenge posed by Breitbart and its ilk, it is less than clear on how to counter it. Successfully standing up for truthful reporting in this environment “could usher in a new golden age for the Fourth Estate,” the authors write. But members of the public who care about such journalism are already flocking to news organizations like The New York Times, The Washington Post, and, locally, The Boston Globe, all of which have experienced a surge in paid subscriptions since the election of President Trump. That’s heartening.
A Major New Study Shows That Political Polarization Is Mainly A Right-Wing Phenomenon
Any right winger who actually places on the same accuracy the "reporting" of Breitbart or Info Wars or Gateway Pundit........with, the Washington Post or New York Times, is fully a Trump cultist devoid of ANY common sense.
It is important that journalists check out their stories, but isn't it just as important that Trump makes sure what he's saying is true. Given that there so many MSM sources, why does the president have a much worse record for truthfulness? Here’s a novel idea, why don’t they tell the news for a change, and not make up so much that isn’t true. It’s not Trumps fault the media doesn’t make sure their stories are true, they just print hear say and then retract it on a back page if it’s not true, and most people don’t even see the retraction do they.

Columbia? Isn't that the institution that spews out most of the Little Goebbels who work for CNN and the other fake news cesspools?
Columbia and you are not the first to float this myth about a resurgence in subscriptions to the New York Times.
The Times which several years ago was bankrupt and slated to be closed down was purchased by Mexican National Carlos Slim. As a foreign press outlet, the Times is not subject to auditing and there is no way to know what the actual circulation numbers are.
As for the self-serving claims of Columbia, this assumes that the basic pressure behind the decline of the Times and the rest of the far left press is partisanship. While partisanship is indeed the deciding factor for what the Times (and Jeff Bezos hate blog) publish, it is absurd to think that it is the cause of the failure of the leftist press. People still get their news on-line. People still us diversified sources, rather than "the News Paper of Record." The prospect of resurgence in print is patently absurd, fodder to excite mindless fools like you. Is it reasonable to assume that the school which has made the term "journalistic integrity" an oxymoron would have any sort of academic integrity? Clearly not.
Further, the argument of our little school of future Goebbels that partisanship is driving people to radical left hate organizations such as the NY Times or CNN, we can check the ratings of CNN.
Cable News Ratings: Fox News Stays On Top | Broadcasting & Cable
Ah, but was we see, Fox remains on top, not only that, they roughly double the ratings of leftist CNN. Even worse, as CNN has moved ever further left, rather than gaining market they have declined to the point that even MSNBC now has better ratings. Simply put, America already had a News station dedicated to a Maoist spin, CNN is redundant.
The Columbia paper is self-serving and strains credulity.

(INTELLIHUB) — Friday morning CNN’s Carol Costello told viewers that President Trump’s job approval rating is at 36% which is a misnomer.
According to the most publicized poll published by Rasmussen Reports, the President’s current approval rating shows that “55% of likely U.S. voters approve of President Trump’s job performance,” which is 19 percentage points higher than CNN is claiming.

With his move from the Washington Post to CNN, Chris Cillizza went from a dishonest leftwing news outlet to one with no scruples whatsoever.
CNN’s sins range from flat-out lying to ginning up violence in predominantly black neighborhoods to pointing what looks like a sniper scope at President Trump’s office window. And with this move, Cillizza has become even more dishonest than he was at the Post.

Fake News CNN Lies Again
On Friday CNN put out a story on comments that Nancy Sinatra made regarding Trump Donald.
CNN made false statements and was forced to due a retraction that states: “This story has been updated to reflect Sinatra’s reaction.”
CNN originally quoted what seems to be a now-deleted tweet from Nancy Sinatra that read “Just remember the first line of the song” which was in response to a question about her father’s song being used at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
