He was scared to death of it.

So his team lead came over one day to visit him because he was calling in his first order later and later each morning, and Billy explained to the lead about the dog.

'Show me this dog, I gotta see it!' he tells Billy, and so they went to where the dog was sitting in the middle of the trash strewn yard looking the other way and panting with his tounge hanging out. The lead observed the dog and he saw that the dog was on a chain leash that was attached to the clothes line, and it looked like the line was wire, likely steel wire he observed.
