Venezuela: What Is Trump To Do??

But failure does not make them fail.

For example, they are eating out of trash cans in Venezuela but socialism is more popular than ever.

Please show us your reliable source and link proving your allegation. Thank you!

Trump's buddy Putin is backing the "socialist" dictator Maduro that Trump has been verbally attacking for a while.

In fact they are reportedly sending "mercenaries" to back that corrupt POS.

Russian mercenaries reportedly in Venezuela to protect Maduro

Will Trump stand up to Putin here...in our own part of the world?

The Monroe Doctrine has been misused in the past to advance big business interests in Central and South America. Preventing a foreign government from getting involved in this way would be a different story and an appropriate use of the MD.

We live in interesting times folks

Maduro can't trust his own guards to protect his life. That shows what a thriving democracy he presides over

What does Putin want him to do?

The other South American nations should be taking the lead. Not the US.

They will suffer the worst of the consequences of the fall of Venezuela.

Exactly why should the U.S. get involved in Venezuela's internal affairs? .. :dunno:
Because Russia would try to get a foothold there...and ya know...OIL

And we have always had a hard on for any socialist country anywhere, but especially in the western hemisphere. When america blathers on about fweedumb, we mean out fweedumb to decide the governments and economies of other nations.

Great point. The people in Venezuela seem to be doing great under socialism?

\Yes, and we can aspire to such Democratic Socialist greatness under a Presidente Ocasio-Cortez.

Venezuela is too important to the southern hemisphere to let communism remain any longer....Send a S.E.A.L. team in to behead Maduro, hand the presidency to the guy they like (along with several other countries), guard him until calm returns and get the fuck out. We got Noriega, bin-Laden, and al-Zarkawi like that....don't wait until the Ivans take over his security team like they did with Assad.

Pootie Poot would get mad at Orange Man

Well, CNN is hardly reliable, but here you go: Venezuela's soldiers, civilians speak in exclusive report - CNN

I presume you are being facetious.

Here is what I found in your source. Personally, I take this as meaning the people are terribly upset with Socialism.

[...]
Discontent in the rank and file is growing, said one soldier, who requested anonymity for fear of reprisals. He said he is paid a dollar and a half on the first of every month. "If I buy a chicken, I have nothing else for the rest of the month," he said. Meanwhile, "the big fishes -- the senior officers -- are the ones eating, getting rich, while at the bottom we have it hard," he added.

"I would say about 80% of the army is against the government, especially the troops, who are going through a lot more than the officers," he added. "You can see in some states, soldiers have starting attending demonstrations. So, if there's international help, that will get bigger." Nevertheless, he said he doubts the military will rise up against Maduro without a sign from their leaders.

Venezuela: What Is Trump To Do??

Why is he to do anything? Venezuelans made their bed. They can lie in it.

Probably the largest driver to the Venezuelan dive, was oil prices huge drop.
==============================================
The Effect of Oil Prices on Oil Exporting Countries
For countries that rely on oil exports to fuel their economies and are not among the world's largest consumers of oil, the relationship between oil prices and economic health is quite different. While it maintains mostly an inverse relationship with the U.S. economy, the price of oil and Venezuela's economy move pretty much in lockstep. When oil prices are high, Venezuela enjoys good economic times. When oil prices drop, economic disaster ensues for the South American country.
Oil Is Major Part of GDP
Oil comprises 95% of Venezuela's exports and 25% of its gross domestic product (GDP), so high prices provide a boon to the country's economy. The period from 2006 until the first half of 2014, save for a brief dip in late 2008 on the heels of a global recession, saw oil prices mostly hover between $100 and $125 per barrel. During that time, Venezuela used its revenues from high oil prices to fund its budget and wield political power. By providing subsidized oil to as many as 13 neighboring Latin American countries, most notably Cuba, Venezuela extracted political favors and attempted to build a coalition against rival nations, namely the U.S. (For related reading, see "What Are the Economic Implications of Government Subsidies on Fuel Costs?")
How does the price of oil affect Venezuela's economy?

Trump along with many other world leaders have formally recognized the opposition leader as the legitimate leader and has I believe offered financial and humanitarian aid. What more can he do? Unless people want him to intervene militarily which I don’t believe anyone does.
