Victory: Wisconsin Teachers Just Voted to Disband Their Teachers Union

FoxNews at least tells the story correctly, from the link above: "Teachers from one of Wisconsin’s largest unions have jumped ship — voting overwhelmingly to abandon the group in the latest in a string of setbacks for the struggling labor movement following Gov. Scott Walker’s union overhaul two years ago.

The decision this week to disband by members of the Kenosha Education Association came after the organization was stripped of its certification and told it had lost its power to bargain for base wages with the district. The group was decertified after missing a key deadline in the annual reapplication process."

The members are free to join any other union, and that has been ignored by the poster and the source.

The better informed among us already understand that since it's been Federal Law since FDR.

Fox does cater to a more mature market

I've read about 8 posts that the union has lost so many members it is closing down.

Poorly performing teachers will support the union. Teachers who want the right to bargain on their own merits will reject the union.

Unions are on the downslide anywhere anyone has an option – is this any surprise.
Teachers are going to be no different. There is a reason that such a small portion of people belong to them now – they no longer represent the interests of the employees.

You are neither better informed nor part of a more mature market.

The statement above contradicted the implication of the OP.

There are so many far right paid bloggers on the site now.

Really? And of course you can back up this absurd claim....

What absurd claim?

That the OP and the implications of it don't match FoxNews?

That the far righties are not a mature viewing audience?

That there are a bundle of far righty paid bloggers, about as many as far lefty paid bloggers, you mean?

It's interesting that the middle class seems to be in decline with unions. Go figure.

The next claim JakeTheFake backs up will be the first!

None of your far righties are better informed or part of a more mature market.

The statement above by Jarred Jaraxle contradicted the implication of the OP. (No one has proved differently).

This particular union failed to take care of its members, so they will go to a more hard core union, which is the American way and hated by business.

Tis what it tis, far right reactionaries.

It's interesting that the middle class seems to be in decline with unions. Go figure.

It’s even more interesting that you don’t bother to come up with any causation or even facts to back that massive claim up.

Correlation is not shown simply because 2 events happen together.

It's interesting the middle class seems to be in decline with the bloating of Federal spending and the dramatic increase in business regulations and government mandates. Go figure.

Fox does cater to a more mature market

By allowing multiple sides to present their view, all Fox does is create chaos and confuse people. And even worse, it can be dangerous because they cause people to question our government, which makes better choices for us than we do. We really need the fairness doctrine to crush Fox and the new media and return to the sane times when people only heard the reasonable liberal correct side of every story.

Teacher Unions overplayed their hand. And now they've lost. You can't constantly hold Taxpayers hostage, and think there won't be a price to pay for it. And times are changing anyway. More & more Americans are seeking alternatives to Public Education. For instance, a Home-Schooling Revolution is now quietly underway. And other alternatives are quietly popping up as well. Who really wants to send their children to Public Schools these days? The Teacher Unions have refused to acknowledge the changing times. And that will prove to be a very costly mistake.
