Wage Strikes Planned at Fast-Food Outlets

The rich owners should pay better voluntarily then but that won't happen. Who cares about the little man,the ones actually selling the rich people's chinese made crap. The government needs to get involved a lot more. Stop letting them take jobs overseas that then allows them to get stuff made cheaply and then sell it here cheaply and pay their workers shit wages. Force them to only sell American made stuff and then those workers can get better jobs paying better wages. Capitalism is for the rich and by the rich.

I think it's time for Mommy to change your diaper.

Why should people work hard like a slave? We live in the 21st century with automation and sure as hell could do a lot more with it. I hope robotics gets more into the growing of our food so we can have a "food stamp" like program for all.

People should be paid well for doing a service. This isn't China.

You righty can't get out of the 18th century!

You ignore the fact that it is a low skill job... anyone can do it and there is a vast pool of ill-educated, government schooled people out there.

hence the low wage.. it is simple economics, even a simp like you should be able to wrap your pea-sized brain around that!

And the reason that middle class to upper middle class wages have remained stagnant in comparison to executive wages?

?

?

You don't know.

Middle class to Democrats is union workers, there is no Non-union middle class to the far left.

If its such a simple job then why do the CEO's of this simply job company make millions while the actual workers make shit? Capitalism for the rich by the rich.

A CEO's pay is not always just a large salary, it is the stock options. There were many CEO's that took a $1 salary at one point, their stock options is what all the fuss it about.

But then again after the Obama stimulus that lined the pockets of the big DNC donors with insider trading not sure how anyone could support the Democrats at this point and make such claims.

well, the brainwashed leftard dumbos as NS or Matthew and some others on the thread, obviously, are too dumb or too brainwashed to connect the dots.

Middle class to Democrats is union workers, there is no private sector middle class to the far left.

That's not an answer. That's a talking point called out of the bull pen.

Middle class family wages as a percentage have been stagnant in comparison to executives.

As a percentage.

Why? I'm just asking the question.

So you are content then to supplement these workers through taxpayer money for the money that McD's et al. won't pay them, correct?

Because they file for assistance in order to make ends meet. Roughly $1,500,000,000+ a year in SNAP cards and such. You're good with that right?

The shareholders of McDonalds LOVE you.

Let's see: $7.50/hour X 35 hours a week. Now that's fat, because most of these franchises like to keep their workers hovering around 20 hours.

That comes out to about $787 a month after taxes taken out.

What do you think that pays for? Oh, never mind. You are content paying for what they cannot.

It is an answer, but obviously one that you will not accept.

Also helps explain the mentality of what the far left considers to be middle class.

Thus showing you why it has been stagnate.

Although if you truly understood how the economy worked you wouldn't have to ask such questions.

What we have now is capitalism.

No it is not, the far left makes claims that the middle class is stagnate, that is because the unions have no negotiated any big huge pay raises in the past 8 years. Thus to the far left the middle class is stagnate.

Do you understand that the economy is not doing well? We have over 7% unemployment (the real numbers put it about 28% to 32% unemployment) and for the life you, you can not figure this out?

I'm not for mandating - but I'm 1, 00000% for getting to the root of the issue.

If fast food workers are middle class then why do they need assistance idiot?

Fast food workers are not middle class you moron.

No one is going to touch the post I made about how Australian McD's pay $15 (USD) per hour and have higher profits than domestic McD's.

Just start saying the protesters today are sent in on buses and paid to be there because the right continually fails to dig below the surface and LEARN.

"Again, take Australia. According to the The Economist, Aussies have paid anywhere from 6 cents to 70 cents extra for their Big Macs compared to Americans over the past two years, a 1 percent to 17 percent premium.

If you were to simply double the cost of labor at your average U.S. Mickey D's and tack it onto the price of a sandwich, you'd expect customers to be paying at least a dollar more."""

I'd gladly pay a buck more for a Big Mac to get thousands of workers off welfare.

What Economist is not saying is that there fast food restaurant are getting big government subsidies to keep the wage that high. Now Aussie government realizing their mistake and trying to cut subsidies in half so they pay more young workers in traditional trades such as plumbing and mechanics. In short, government social engineering resulted that nobody wants to be a plumber anymore.

Fast food chains could probably pay their people more, since price of the fast food is mostly driven by the supply and demand. What they don't want to lose is demand for their product, and any food price increase would definitely do so. Then there is domino affect, where they have to absorb the cost of increase that affects it’s bottom line - profits. With no profits, the company may just call it quits, as the shareholders will undoubtedly do.

You're a jackass dude.

Middle class doesn't mean only union. God damn that's stupid.

And I'm not talking about the past 8 years.

From the late 70's to early 80's compared to today, executive pay has grown exponentially in comparison to middle class pay. As a percentage.

If you're going to deny that cold fact, then why bother?

About 15 years ago I had a designer stationery line that I sold through retail exhibits all over the country. One was in Chicago at McCormick Place. A buyer for McDonald's came to our booth and asked me about the high-end $45 (wholesale price) address book we had on display. She wanted 50,000 for various top management meetings in the U.S., Europe and Asia. They were going to be gifts for the manager attendees.

Let's see: $45 X 50,000 = $2,250,000 right?

So McDonald's was ready to spend just that on pretty little gift designer address books for their managers as freebies.

Are you getting it yet?
