Self-criticism. I have not heard that phrase for decades, but now it brought back memories of being a "pioneer" in Communist Hungary in the 1950's.

We had to do it from time to time, but it was fun listening to the teachers criticising themselves for their perceived failings to promote the proletarian state.

I recall never see one teacher again.
