They say we MUST attack Syria, because we can't allow nations to think they can use chemical weapons.

Well, what happened when Iraq gas the Kurds?

NOTHING.

What happened when Iraq gassed the Iranians?

NOTHING.

Looks like doing nothing in Syria would be perfectly consistent with American foreign policy.

It's a HUGE FUCKING LIE. We were supporting the "rebels" before any gas attack occurred. Our motivation for deposing Assad IS NOT WMDs.

We had to wait for a CINC with balls.

I'm just going to play negative here a little bit. Suppose that congress signs off on this bullshit with 91% of the population in TOTAL disagreement. What does that tell you about your country?

It's a red line. Imagine that.

If we say chemical weapons can't be used, why are we protecting al quaeda when they used them?

Years ago, our ancestors used to take shits in the same river they fished in. Later on, when man developed toilets, the paper used to wipe their asses was the newspaper, which would leave newsprint all over them.

Because something was done that way, does not mean it has to be done that way now.

Second, because the US cannot respond to EVERY CWA does not mean it should not respond to ANY.

Get it, handsome?

According to CounterPunch the US has a past firmly committed to germ warfare:

"The United States, which has deployed its CBW arsenal against the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Vietnam, China, North Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Cuba, Haitian boat people and Canada, plus exposure of hundreds of thousands of unwitting US citizens to an astonishing array of germ agents and toxic chemicals, killing dozens of people.

"The US experimentation with bio-weapons goes back to the distribution of cholera-infect blankets to American Indian tribes in the 1860s.

"In 1900, US Army doctors in the Philippines infected five prisoners with a variety of plague and 29 prisoners with Beriberi. At least four of the subjects died.

"In 1915, a doctor working with government grants exposed 12 prisoners in Mississippi to pellagra, an incapacitating disease that attacks the central nervous system.

Something else more of us should've learned before casting our first ballot.

Nor was WMD our motivation to get rid of Saddam...just an easy to support rationale.

We provided components to Saddam to make chemical weapons with. We have used chemical weapons ourselves on others. We did not bomb ourselves and we got along fine without taking such actions.
