We KNEW it would happen sooner or later.. Vegas victim suing

Because people carrying in bags at a hotel is something more rare than 7.2 magnitude earthquakes?
BS. You get on a plane, a machine. You get into my office ... a machine.

For fucks sake you got over a million bucks in a casino .. how can a guy get 20 guns inside? Don't get me wrong. My house is armed. My car is armed when I'm not at work.... where you best not be armed.

But if I go to a casino, I want to see rent a cops and security machines.
so you think they are liable because they didnt meet your standards?
Ah well the question is whether my standards or your standards are reasonable. I think you're nuts.
No, thats not the question. The question, how is the hotel liable for what that madman did?
Well, legally you are mistaken.
I am asking YOU how they are liable and you give me some shit about your own standards.
If im mistaken, show me.

Las Vegas shooting: Lawsuit filed as new questions raised over timeline - CNN
California college student injured in the Las Vegas music festival massacre filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the hotel owners, the concert promoter and bump stock manufacturers, claiming they were all liable in the mass shooting.

The claims against MGM Resorts International, which owns both Mandalay Bay and the concert venue that hosted the festival, raise more questions about a timeline that has changed numerous times -- and, according to Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, could change again. The suit also questions why hotel staff didn't notice the shooter's behavior in several instances.
Specifically, the lawsuit accuses MGM, of failing to respond in a timely manner to the "shooting of Mandalay Bay security officer Jesus Campos, who had gone to the 32nd floor to check on an alert from another guest room and who was shot six minutes prior to" the massacre beginning.
The lawsuit, which also names the shooter's estate and other entities, comes as an MGM employee says he owes his life to Campos' heroism, and as Lombardo tells the local newspaper that he refuses "to say that somebody dropped the ball."

Frivolous bullshit.
I bet she was in tears of joy before she even felt the blood coming out.
Dont even know the motive and already there are law suits.... SMH
Pathetic
I hope the judge throws it out and forces to her to pay everyones legal fees like they did an aurora victims mother.

Me, I just board planes indiscriminately and make them forcibly remove me so I can sue them.

What do you mean, "these days?" I've never noticed any additional security at hotels. I don't think it's the hotel's fault. It IS the bump stocks' fault though. Hope they lose their shirt.
Lol how is it their fault? I mean, really..
If they wanted to sell something like that to licensed target ranges and made sure that those fucking things weren't allowed off the range under ANY circumstances, fine. It turns a semi into a machine gun. And don't say it doesn't. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a DUCK.
Its LEGAL
WELL IT SHOULDN'T BE!
yeah, how can bump stocks be legal? The NRA is now for "regulating" them. I had no idea stuff like that still existed. I'm pretty pro-gun but those things have no legit use.
Why cant they? Nothing about them break any laws.

No the hotel is literally liable if it did not take "reasonable" steps to protect patrons from dangers it has a reason to expect. In today's sad world, a hotel should expect nuts to kill people. So, if the guy killed any Mandalay Bay patrons, imo they should be settling any suits. Literally, I was absolutely shocked the hotel didn't have firearm screening at entrances where guests came it. If they get sued to bankruptcy, I got no sympathy.

There is a fly in the ointment. The guy shot from the hotel to an outside location. The hotel does not have the same legal duty to people not on their property and paying for the right to be on that property.
I'm going to be signing into a hotel tonight. We'll see if they rifle through my suitcase or if I'm sent through a metal detector.
It's been years since I was in a casino. I took my kid to a very small Cats production over 10 years ago. I honestly don't remember.

It creeps me out a little that Amtrack seems to have no security.

They never should have been made legal by the ATF to begin with. What were they thinking?
No civilian needs a steenkin machine gun and I don't care if you made it a machine gun from empty catfood tins, if it fires like one it should be as illegal as the machine gun itself.

Do you somehow dispute that Heller and McDonald allow them to be prohibited?

Well yeah, but riddle me this ... in this day and age, how does somebody get 20 guns into a hotel room? This wasn't one drunk hitting another one and MGM getting sued for not enough rent a cops.

Paddock had several days to bring in the guns (concealed in luggage).

Here's that ATF letter AGAIN. Bump Stocks are LEGAL and do not make the rifle a machine gun.

The ATF said it didn't have the authority to do anything since they were not technically part of the rifle. Apparently the NRA now says they do. LOL

We are also allowed to own tanks and surface to air missiles. In fact, technically, i can own nuclear warheads if i got the money, permits and the US govt signed off on selling me fissile material.
Civilians should be able own ANYTHING the federal govt has. If not, it goes against the entire point.

yeah. The question literally will be - for suits at least by guests - is whether the hotel could reasonably anticipate that happening.

OMG can you keep up at all? You have flopping around like a fish on dry land for the past 30 minutes..
They are LEGAL. They break no laws. The ATF signed off on them 7 or 8 years ago.
Get a LEGAL case against it, then tell me i dont have legal standing

Does it scare you we still have a few freedoms left in this country?

There was the largest gun show in the world in Vegas Oct. 7-10 or so... They all brought guns to their rooms..nah the hotel is not responsible.

The widow of the Winchester Rifle 1800's , thought all of the people killed by the rifle were haunting her, so she kept building her home until the day she died with stair cases going no where windows to spy .. I believe she died in her room after being trapped by a earthquake.. and the ghosts got her..

So they should sue the gun makers..

Well, that is the thing about extreme outlier incidents: the probability is incredibly low. I doubt any hotel expects a guest to conduct such a mass murder spree from one of its rooms.
